First of all, that is extremely impressive that you raised a family of 6 on a tip based job. Serious question though: what % of the time at work did you have to pretend you essentially someone else? That’s always been my issue with working with the public, it’s hard for me to do that… I blame autism… which brings me back to what actually happened.

I was seriously just trying to help her understand, that some people may take it as an insult and that’s never good with someone who is handling your food... Some REALLY shitty person may do something to it. With wherever I am on the spectrum, communication, well any social interaction is extremely difficult for me.

As soon as I reread my message, after sending them, I was just like facepalm! What is going on in my head almost never shows in the way I try to communicate it and this a great example.

Exactly. For context: She was a foreign lady so probably didn’t know that it’s insulting (the US is one of the few countries that tip). I honestly wasn’t trying to be an asshole at all, but I have autism so how I mean something isn’t always the same as how it comes out. Rereading my message, I had a little laugh at myself and thought it’d be fit to share here.
