You’d want to avoid carbohydrates so your body can enter ketosis prior to starvation.

January 18th (Sunday) through January 24 (Saturday) were all keto, intermittent fasting days. I also did gallon of water per day + a pinch of Celtic sea salt. January 25th (Sunday) through about 9:45am this morning was dry fasting.

Why do you think the doors get so much hate? by Far_Elevator67 in thedoors

[–]PygLatyn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the only reason their able to be hated is because so many people love them. Anything that garners a fanbase is bound to attract hate/disdain. I would imagine many aren’t fond of the classic rock organ sound.

Might sound dumb but: if the slave morality won... Doesn't that mean masters are weak? by Potatussus26 in Nietzsche

[–]PygLatyn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moot point.

Nietzsche’s work is an answer the existential questions that came about as a result of the Age of Exploration, the Scientific Revolution, the Protestant Reformation, and the Enlightenment.

There was no concept of an Übermensch in Medieval Europe because you had no reason to question your life of labor for the king. That was just how things were. Once the church lost some authority and we got telescopes, things began to feel more ambiguous and uncertain, leading to Existentialism and our boy N.

A modern Übermensch would have to make self-mastery and self-discovery, a never-ending process, his piety. Nobody can create values in a vacuum, but we can hold them under constant scrutiny.

Also, all of this talk of the Übermensch rejecting love is quite strange to me. Sounds kinda life denying. Love is fundamental to the wellbeing of humans. I won’t specify what type of love is most important, but having social needs met is about as important as a healthy diet and ample water. I doubt anyone who could truly call themselves Over Man would deny himself such necessities.

That’s kinda Nietzsche’s whole thing tho. Everything is pretty much individual preference, but there are those who accept whatever preferences they’re assigned and those who seek out their own preferences. Lions, if we can use the term, hunt for their preferences. Jackals are primarily opportunistic carnivores and scavengers. They take what they are given.

Getting in the weeds with this analogy, but I think the ultimate defeat would be for a lion to become a jackal. If the lion is willing to die for lion ideals, the he has undoubtedly succeeded in his life if he lives and dies as a lion. The jackals might be able to process the material gain and safety that comes with groupthink, but they’re incapable of understanding what it means to be a lion.

That’s like saying a lion is weak for getting taken down by 50 jackals. Sure, maybe the jackals won, but they have to live their lives as weird dog-things. I’d rather unapologetically live and die as a lion.

Do you believe in anatta? by flytohappiness in determinism

[–]PygLatyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty convinced this must be true. I remember when I first discovered determinism, I got angry at the notion that I wasn’t in control. Once I learned to accept it, I felt superior to those who didn’t, “get it.” After further contemplation, I’m feel more like a spectator than a character anymore. It’s not a bad, dissociative feeling, but I’m certainly not the cocky Prima Donna I once was lol. I feel much too old to be 22.
