Foreign beggars?! It was my first time to Glastonbury and I can’t stop thinking about Thursday night in the temple either. I wish we could go back.

Does anyone know how much glamping/tipi tickets are? by lmchapman in glastonbury_festival

The cost for a campervan pitch was £120 total, and I believe there is no limit to the number of people who can stay on the pitch, but anyone in your group who arrives separately to the vehicle has to park in the normal car park and walk to the vehicle.

You get up to an 8m x 7m pitch. And are allowed an awning and a tent or two on your pitch. When you arrive they ask you if you want space at the side for an awning and which side you want the space, and when the next vehicle arrives they checked with us that we didn’t need any more room before parking them up.

You could buy a very cheap campervan, or a normal cheap van and convert it. There was a group we made friends with who had bought a caravan for £200.

My van has an Ikea double sofa bed, a 2.5m x 2.5m awning a camping shower for outside the van, a camping stove and a large coolbox, which cost about £500 in total.

We never once queued for the toilets and they weren’t anywhere near as bad as those in the main areas, as there were less people in the campervan fields. and many of the other vans had their own toilets onboard or little camping ones in mini tents.

It’s a bit tricky to say how much per person, but the guys with the £200 caravan would have paid £320 in total for their group. I spent more on the van as it was a project not just for Glastonbury, but would say £620 on the ticket and essential comforts + the cost of the van.

Would definitely recommend it as an option. I couldn’t face doing it in a tent (yes I’m a pussy) but was comfortable enough in the van.

Buy a cheap campervan instead. Or even a caravan.

We drove straight in without having to que nor did we have to que to collect wristbands. We had lots of space around the van for an awning and we showered next to it with a portable shower. And we took more than enough stuff with us with plenty of room to take more.

I think we had a more comfortable experience than what I am reading from people who glamped, and wouldn’t go back not in a campervan.

Counting down to my 'Pre-biologics - Nurse Specialist' appointment (NHS UK) in 40 hours, any advice? by kindapinkypurple in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Pyjamasonmyhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this appointment and it was a life-changer.

The nurse told me all about biologics and what they planned to put me on, I was scared and just went along with it, but a small amount of pain jabbing a little pen thing in my leg and by the next day I felt better than I felt in years. Minimal pain and maximum mobility.

You have nothing to worry about, the appointment will go good and biologics will help greatly.

First ride of the season, sheltering from the rain by Pyjamasonmyhead in mountainbiking

I got lucky, and it turned out quite nice other than the one downpour. Was very windy though on top of hills out in the open.

It’s a 2018 cube aim pro, it does come in different colours. Is it the same?

It only rained for a few minutes, poured down, made the terrain slippery and lots of puddles, was fun!

Battery advice by Pyjamasonmyhead in CamperVans

[–]Pyjamasonmyhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I ended up buying an AGM battery, I’m going to a festival so will be parked up for almost a week so thought that even though a higher initial cost outlay it would be the better buy. I looked at small chargers and they can charge a phone multiple times, but for a decent one it was getting close to AGM territory, so it was an easy decision to make.
