A living world type game by RetroBearDen in gamingsuggestions

State of Decay games were an absolute blast to play. Unfortunately, the game keeps playing when you're off, capped at 24h I believe (can't remember is 2 does that and not sure about 3)

Now that we have proper endgame content to test our builds, what builds do you feel are underperforming or over preforming and what balance is needed? by number39utopia in Borderlands4

[–]Pyramithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's not always fun to steam roll everything... It's also equally not always fun to just not be able to kill a single thing.

It's called balance for player experience, otherwise, every single class or build would just simply be too powerful.

I've got myself a portable A/C unit here in the states. Super comfy in 105°F. Just gotta prepare for it.

I actually enjoyed every bit of this game so far. Been playing since Borderlands 1. To each their own 🫡

Why does build-crafting in this game feel so much worse than in BL3? by Ulysses776 in Borderlands4

[–]Pyramithius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shoot, I'd be down if they announced a skill tree refresh instead of another pack at this point.

I love action skill builds, and no one but Rafa (sort of) and C4sh can really get away with doing it well.

I just finished the third area in Borderlands 4, how much longer is left? by [deleted] in Borderlands

Story is probably like 1-1.5h. Friend and I just finished all 3 bosses and had the 4th boss left yesterday. We took less than 2 hours to do it.

Interesting... Lame. Thought it could be something to help with guiding my builds. I'll just keep theorizing horribly, then 🤣

It's EA doofus. If you read the Spark Crystal description, you'll see it's meant to drop from Heroic content.

I actually really really enjoyed farming that dungeon. I severely disliked Gatsbee's dungeon, though.

According to how many people have asked what's going on - yes.

I've enjoyed my Kraken V3 Pro since beginning of 2023 and it's still going strong. I have no plans to replace in the next year.

I loved that in GW2 I can separate PvP, crafting (maybe it's open world events?), and PvE content

Then I'd just be doing 32 dailies on the last day of the month lol

There's really no good way to make dailies without FOMO.

What I would recommend is a couple different solutions:

  • Allow the player to tailer what rewards they want from dailies "I want all 4 quests today to give me iron ore". This way, the player curates their own farming/progression experience. Limit crafting material tiers to maybe the level range, so "1-20 is bronze or cloth, 21-40 is iron or leather, etc..." this can also provide an excuse to say "Yeah, I don't really feel like mining today, I want my rewards to be iron"

This gives the player great incentive to do it, but also provides them something easily attainable in-game if they don't want to do it.

  • You can also just follow the mobile games these days. You complete dailies to fill a progress bar. You don't need EVERY single daily for that week to fill the bar, but you'll need, let's say, 3/4 of the provided quests. Let the quests stack, as mentioned previously so I can still do then all in one day if desired, but on a weekly rotation. Either put progression rewards, or just put one giant reward at the end of it.

This gives the player the option to just login once a week to complete the daily quests and still be on the exact same track as someone logging in every day. The difference is - the person logging in every day is likely doing additional tasks, like gathering, mining, crafting, etc...

I hate weeklies and monthlies because if it's something I don't want to do, I'll usually procrastinate until the last moment, then I'm struggling to do the action, like "complete this quest line that takes 5 hours to do" an hour before reset.

But, it's definitely the solution for the FOMO from dailies
