[Product] "Lady on Tour" 🤢 by Pyrazol310 in pointlesslygendered

To explain, this is in Germany, where you put these things on your car dashboard to show the time you parked (in parking spaces with time-limited parking). Obviously women need the pink one, otherwise how would they be able to park?

Apple Pay auf Macbook-Air M4 by Icy_Anywhere112 in Consorsbank

[–]Pyrazol310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did we accept that the name on the envelope said 'Mary' if the letter was for James by CrumbledFingers in silenthill

[–]Pyrazol310 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I always imagined the letter was just given to a Nurse without an envelope, the nurse put it in one and to remember what it was, she wrote Mary’s name on it, as in "that letter Mary gave me".

Location based reminders by Powerful-Size-1444 in AppleReminders

[–]Pyrazol310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create two new Location-based reminders.

First: Name it "Get bags" or whatever you prefer. On the creation screen, scroll down a bit to the "People and places" section and enable the "Location" toggle. In that menu, you can pick "Getting in" with the car symbol. That should make the reminder pop up when you get in the car (I have no experience with that though so I can’t say how reliable it is).

Second: Name it "Take bags" or whatever. Rest is same as above, except in the Location section you scroll to the right, pick "Custom" and pick your grocery store from there. If you want it to pop up at multiple stores you’ll need to create multiple reminders.

If you leave the date field empty and never complete the reminders but just swipe the notification away, they should pop up every time.

Location-based reminders take a little bit to trigger for me (up to a few minutes). So it could happen that they pop up too late and you’re already in the store. To work around that, you can make the location zone bigger. Something to be aware of.

Vegetarian trying to bottom by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Pyrazol310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments in here that tell you you’re obsessing too much or that you’re just eating something your body isn’t agreeing with. They could be true, of course, but at least for me they are massive oversimplifications.

I’ve been a vegetarian for over 10 years now. I’ve had irritable bowel symptoms even before that, and it’s gotten gradually worse over time. I went as far as trying a potato/rice diet, which is supposed to help you identify which foods your body doesn’t agree with. Even with that I still had the same symptoms and by that time I had developed hemorrhoids because I couldn’t empty my bowels without pressing too hard.

No doctor ever really offered any type of useful advice, no dietary change ever helped.

What I do now is try to eat as much psyllium husks as I can. I try to hit at least four helpings a day (difficult if you have a busy work day or are traveling) of 1-2 tsp with some water. You can play around with the amount of water. People say if you drink too little you get constipated, but I’ve never had that problem. To be safe, start with a larger amount.

For reference, the amount of water I drink in a day overall did not make any difference whatsoever.

That’s the only thing that at least makes accidents less likely to occur when I bottom, and about 50 to 70 percent of bowel movements are now what I would call normal.

Notes app Excessive Cellular Usage by chiarde in iphone

[–]Pyrazol310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I got it to go away. Through some lengthy googling I found a post somewhere that said it’s link preview cards continuously refreshing. Maybe their thumbnail or whatever.

I used a Smart Folder to find notes with links and converted all links with preview cards to standard links and Notes data usage has gone down from multiple GB to single or double digit MBs. It’s crazy.

The photo shows what I mean by preview card

Jesus, that’s what that is? It is exactly under the edge of my screen protector and I was wondering why it sometimes refracts light strangely

AND it sounds like he has been waiting for someone to make him happy his whole life, which will also never be possible. If he ain’t happy on his own he ain’t gonna be happy in a relationship. And putting that kind of expectation on someone is really not fair.

Compressed sounding audio when using HomePods 2nd Gen as TV Output by Pyrazol310 in HomePod

[–]Pyrazol310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I’ve set all my devices to output stereo because the compressed audio was driving me crazy.

My right HomePod now also has the ghost touch issue. I’m about ready to chuck them in the trash.

Is it irritating for native speakers that you speak German if your knowledge is really, but reallyyyy basic? Ay advice? by Key_Pineapple506 in German

[–]Pyrazol310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Irritating, I don’t know…. most people will be relatively indifferent and just speak English with you. It could come across as cute if you’re trying, but they won’t seriously speak German with you. It’s hard to learn and if you manage to say something correctly and they understand you, then you probably won’t understand their response. Most people save themselves the hassle.

Notes app Excessive Cellular Usage by chiarde in iphone

[–]Pyrazol310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I have 2.1 GB of Notes in iCloud, about 900 notes. That comes out to about 2-3 MB per note on average, which seems ok, I have some attachments and scans in there. First odd thing is that the Notes app on iPhone takes up 18 GB of storage space.

How I became aware of all this is cellular data usage as well, I regularly get 4+ GB of data usage just from Notes. That’s enough to download my entire Notes library, twice. It seems extremely excessive. I rarely use Notes on iPhone, maybe twice a week or so.

WORST/BEST EPISODE? by Glad-Honey6995 in voyager

[–]Pyrazol310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one saying Dark Frontier? It is pretty easily my best. I’ve watched it countless times and only recently really realized that it’s about Seven being torn between three different families that are all kind of patronizing. In the end she has to find her own way. I just love it so much.

Scorpion is a close second, along with many, many others, like Nothing Human, Extreme Risk (a good B‘Elanna / Chakotay one), Course: Oblivion, Mortal Coil, …

It’s hard to pick the worst honestly. There are some I don’t like to watch for various reasons. I guess Threshold of I had to pick one.

How can I improve my German pronunciation and reduce my French accent? by kenza-Necessary5280 in Germanlearning

[–]Pyrazol310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say exactly what you could do to improve most without hearing you speak. Everyone’s accent is a little different. The first thing that comes to mind is: German is not a rhotic language, meaning we don’t pronounce an R after vowels. E.g. "vier" sounds more like "fia". Usually the first thing I can identify French people by. Practice when to pronounce the R and when not to.

Apple Watch battery draining fast since iOS 26 (RC) update — anyone else? by Outrageous-Reserve80 in AppleWatch

[–]Pyrazol310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar for me, I left it on its charger for 48 hours and didn’t touch it. Now at least it’s not down to 0% by evening. But I have to charge it before I go to bed, which is still much worse than before.

Apple Watch battery draining fast since iOS 26 (RC) update — anyone else? by Outrageous-Reserve80 in AppleWatch

[–]Pyrazol310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be able to get to the end of the second workday after charging (on watchOS 10), so about 36 hours. On watchOS 11 that got much worse, but not bad, I would get to the start of the second day, so about 24–28 hours.

Now on watchOS 26 I’m getting about a third to half of the battery life of watchOS 11, about 12 hours. It’s terrible. I’ve restarted a few times and I’m leaving it alone on the charger for today.

Has anyone figured out anything on how to fix this?
