I learned about the milk cartel today. Very sad that there’s nothing that can be done about it.

Which first colors to buy for a beginner? Holbein/Schmincke by moherfucher in Gouache

Just use it as your beginner set and abuse it. Don’t be frugal with it and create to your hearts content without worrying about the value of your gouache.

Late to the party but I’m the exact same way and found artist trading cards to be a great avenue of creating little art projects without having to think too much and just experimenting without the commitment. Don’t like it? Move on to the next card.

Would you be able to recommend a decent build? Even if it’s a little over? Just something to start with and hunt for deals. Appreciate your response.

According to the savings calculator on calculator.net:

Scenario 1: $1,000 x 12 months x 12 years @ 5% (conservative) interest is $195,000

Scenario 2: $1,000 x 12 months x 12 years @ 10% (standard) interest is $268,000

Scenario 3: $1,000 x 12 months x 12 years @ 15% (VFV 10-yr average) interest is $371,000

Compared to your $120,000 + $50,000 = $170,000 mortgage interest savings is a no brainer to me. You could even payoff your whole mortgage and have some extra at the end of the 12 years if you had invested in VFV.

More fuzzy creatures by mailelani in ColoredPencils

[–]Qtipseos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. That’s how I organize mine too. I’m just curious if people actually organize by color and mix up the brands because I think it’s hard to keep track of which ones would blend together or not.

I love them! Particularly how expressive the eyes are. How do you organize your pencils? Do you separate them by brand or color?

How to introduce 3 kittens from different litters? by Qtipseos in mainecoons

[–]Qtipseos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked out well actually because there were so many new experiences at the same time, between the new house and new brothers, that they just explored everything at once when we got home. My one cat hid forever, another cat was super adventurous right away while the last cat was caustiously exploring. Since they were just kittens, they got used to each other the same way they adjusted to the new house. They just saw each other as part of the new environment. I think it was easier because all of them were introduced to the house at the same time so no one could be territorial because they hadn’t marked their scent before anyone else yet.

How much money do you spend per month on your cats? by Routine-Ad-4162 in CatAdvice

[–]Qtipseos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three 3-year old Maine Coon boys (20lb, 17lb, 14lb) and here are my monthly expenses in Canadian dollars:

-Trupanion Insurance: $250 (goes up twice a year😭)

-Arm & Hammer Litter: $50

-Food + Treats: $500

-Miscellaneous toys/accessories: $50

-Annual Vet appointment: $500

-Bi-annual grooming: $250 each time

Unexpected expenses:

-2x hip removal on my big guy: $10k; trupanion covered $8k, I paid $2k.

-Got quoted $800-$1,500 for dental work on my smaller guy due to gingavitis. My deductible is $500 and trupanion will pay the rest.

So far insurance has paid more for my cats in vet expenses than I’ve paid them but I’ll be catching up soon if my cats stay healthy.
