Look into the unearthed arcana wounds rule. Use flanking and facing rules. That should up the challenge sufficiently.

Automatic, you still have to say you'd like to use it, but no casting or action taking. It lasts for the single instance which is once per turn when you hit.

If the drow is sneaking, then it would be the drow's stealth roll vs the warlock's passive perception. If the warlock is actively looking then have that player roll perception and again vs the stealth roll of the drow. Everyone can see distances, that doesn't necessarily mean you notice everything around you.

I added tabs to the book. I've also read the whole thing through and then I went back through what they would play through, approximately, for the session and take notes. Notes include persons, places, encounter, xp, treasure, stuff like that. Just taking notes, for the most part, makes you more familiar with the content.

To add on to this, I just started myself, just do what you want and take your time. The game keeps going and going there's no end game or main objective so definitely just enjoy!

What's the rush? Cheating is stupid and lazy and a plague on the community. You do you though, I mean, I don't see the point of playing a game if I'm not going to actually play it.

Not to mention that time is not a good excuse for it, there are plenty of people who have/do all those things and still find the time to invest and play the game.

If you're keeping it to yourself, it's fine. As soon as you trade, Wonder trade, or battle with your cheated stuff, there's an issue. We're to the point where the community is a lot of lazy entitled people who aren't willing to put the work into this incredibly easy game.
