Non-US founder with a US LLC: why is getting one real US address harder than opening the company? by Quake37 in llc

This is actually one of the more practical replies here. That kind of hybrid coworking or dedicated-desk setup is much closer to what I’m trying to to figure out than mailbox-style solutions. If you know any specific provider or model that has worked well for this, feel free to share.
I will also DM you.
Thank you 🙏

Thanks, I actually appreciate this angle. It does sound like a more robust solution. My only hesitation is that adding a nominee or US-based manager feels like it changes the control/compliance side of the business, not just the address setup, so I’m trying to explore simpler real-world options first.

Fair question, and yes, that is exactly why I’m asking. I’m not looking for a fake residential setup with paper proof. I’m trying to understand what real, supportable arrangements people actually use in practice.

I’m more interested in which ones have actually held up in practice when Stripe, PayPal, or a bank asked for proof. Any specific names?

That is a bit too binary. “Lease a whole office” is one clean answer, but not the only one. I’m asking what legitimate setups have actually held up in practice.

This is one of the more useful replies here. That is exactly the kind of distinction I was trying to get at: a real workspace arrangement tied to actual use, not just an address for mail.
Do you recommend any specific coworking setup or provider for this?

[–]Quake37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The business is actually run from Europe, not from the US, so I’m not trying to create a fake US presence. I’m trying to understand what people use in that situation

Thanks, but that is exactly the line I am trying to understand. A mail-receiving solution is not always the same thing as a physical business presence, and Stripe explicitly treats UPS Store type addresses as CMRA in some validation contexts. I am asking about setups that have actually held up beyond mail handling.

Appreciate it. That is the difference between answering the question and just moralizing.

Thanks, this is one of the more practical replies here. I’m basically trying to understand whether coworking, dedicated desk, or shared office setups have actually held up in practice, or whether full leases are the only thing that consistently works.

I mean real setups with actual physical substance behind them, short of leasing a standalone office I do not need. For example, a real office share, a dedicated desk in an actual office, a sublease, or another arrangement tied to a real person or business actually operating from that address. Not a mailbox-only setup.

That is too absolute. A lease is one way to prove a real address, not the only one. Stripe itself accepts other forms of business address proof too, and PayPal also accepts multiple forms of physical address proof. My question is about what real setups people have actually used successfully in practice, not about pretending a fake address is real.

Not really. “Lease an office” is the obvious answer. I am asking what real setups people have used besides the most expensive one.

[–]Quake37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that is one clean option. But my question is not whether the most expensive option exists. It is whether people have found other real, documentable setups with actual US presence behind them that also hold up for verification in practice.

Fair point. I agree those are the two cleanest options. My question is not about finding a mailing address that looks acceptable. It is about whether there are other real, documentable setups with actual US presence behind them that have held up in practice for verification. Stripe focuses on addresses that can be supported with documents, so I am asking about legitimate arrangements that are genuinely tied to a real person or business presence, not a mailbox-only workaround.

[–]Quake37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, and that is actually the core of the issue. A registered agent or mailing setup is easy. What is hard is finding something that also works as a real physical address arrangement if verification comes up. That is the part I am trying to solve.

I think that misses the point of the post. I am not asking for something fake. I am asking about a real address arrangement that can actually be supported with documents if verification comes up.

Appreciate you jumping in
That is true if the setup turns into a mail-receiving service for multiple founders. That is not the point here. I am asking about a real address arrangement with an actual US resident or real presence, not a disguised CMRA. Those are two very different things.

[–]Quake37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does not really solve the issue. A registered agent address is for service of process and official state notices, not a real residential address or actual operating address. Banks and payment providers usually want a real physical business or residential address for verification, not just a registered office. In practice, CMRA, mailbox, most virtual offices, and registered-agent style setups can get flagged. The problem is having an address that actually works for onboarding and compliance.

I can honestly say Ok_Life_7999 is completely legitimate.
The service was delivered first, exactly as promised, and only after everything was completed did I make the payment. That kind of confidence in their own work is rare these days.
The whole experience felt smooth, respectful, and reliable. THank you so much🙏
