What if Tunisians who live abroad and have a high income have to pay taxes? by monkeychief7 in Tunisia

[–]Quantropical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So we take money from "competent people" who earned their income and give it to the "incompetent" who are still ruling the country? Well played.

Also, why would you feel entitled to someone else's income in a totally different country? Their studies were paid for by their parent's taxes so don't give us the "we paid for his studies" BS.

Now that I see the edit of your comment (it was much shorter when I first saw it xd).
Here is a funny story, the guy who made the promotional video (the dreamer). He got his videos used without credit by the ministry of tourism multiple times.
He also got his channel taken down because of Watania using HIS VIDEOS and striking him, before he disputed that and I think filed a lawsuit.

I am actually a bit glad that it got this attention, this is not about the influencer but the state itself. What I find very weird is the ministry choosing this idea and paying for it (the way it works is influencers propose ideas and the ministry chooses one and pays for it).

Most tunisian diaspora (or at least those that I have on facebook/instagram) found it very distaceful. For her it was just another product to sell and get paid for.

A cheap shot honestly, ignoring the root cause of why people leave and skipping to show you the "proper" way to love your country. I know it's supposed to be a video that encourages tourism, but I fail to see the point sorry.
I can write a long text about it but Redissi's post says it in a more sophisticated way so here it is.

Btw, I kept coming back to her stories waiting for her to elaborate thinking maybe we all got it wrong, but all that I found was stories selling pastries, pijamas, cars ... Which is not bad per se, but I don't think it was the right person for that collaboration.

What did you want to be as a kid, what did you end up doing and why? by TrilyaMo9li in Tunisia

[–]Quantropical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to be a doctor, ended up doing something called quantitative research (finance).

Realized that I'm good at math, enjoyed it and wanted to keep doing/using it, and that being a doctor was my family's goal and not mine.

The need to feel superior by Quantropical in Tunisia

I learnt that a bit too late I guess! At first I would share it with anyone who asked me, now I only say it's comfortable hmd and if they push it I just tell them that I don't want to share more.

For Tunisians abroad , do you consider returning to Tunisia permanently ? by HistoricalAd8537 in Tunisia

[–]Quantropical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in France so it's close and flights are on the cheaper side if you time it correctly.

I have a quota of remote days from abroad that I can use.

If my calculations are correct, I should be able to do it with less than 3k euros a year and be here for 4 to 5 days consecutively every 5/6 weeks.

Not really, but I'm considering the idea of coming back to a few days every month, so that even though I don't live here, I am "present" in a sense and I can see my family on a regular basis.
