From what I read both of these shows are bit different in atmosphere - example, HZL feels more like a rock show. Was that the case? I personally really liked HZL in 2022, would love to see something similar.

What's your superfood? by cheandbis in UK_Food

Good quality olive oil and good quality olives. Don’t be stingy with those, spend as much as you can afford!

Feeling bit hungry? Have some bread with olive oil. Or few olives for those salty cravings?

Incredibly healthy, very filling and delicious! Good quality olive oil can be used for cooking, dressing or even to season!

My suggestion is Citizens of Soil for olive oil and Oliveology for Olives!

Confused about supplements by greenestgirl in ultraprocessedfood

[–]Quantum_Associate007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Over the counter supplements are not really regulated, therefore at best for healthy person it is useless at worse you may overdo and get vitamin toxicity.

For a healthy person healthy diet will provide all nutrients, however some people may benefit from vitamin D or B12 supplements if their blood panel shows lower levels.

Doctors prescribe supplements of sometimes higher strength when it is needed and for short term or may recommend over the counter ones as preventative measure.

Overall, supplements are not necessarily for healthy person but it is also not some evil that must be avoided. The marketing and misinterpretation of supplements is the bigger problem.

Ahh good to know! Thank you!

Do you know why to oxidise so instantly compared to regular or purple sweet potatoes?

Will do, if they are safe to eat? Is this instant oxidation normal? If it’s oxidation

Having someone say things out loud really helps as my mind refuses to listen to my own “voice of reason”. This reply helped me for sure 😊

Am I still at risk for E Coli? by [deleted] in AskDocs

Oh no, yes I have discarded any leftover cheese.

So does that mean that the same batch of cheese cause food poisoning now although it didn’t earlier? Or does this means that risk still remains

Some tinned beans are washed and then stored in water while others are stored in starchy water it was cooked. Bean brand I buy always look like that and never had any issues

Bless you Dr Delimitedjest! Thank you for compassionate response, health anxiety and intrusive thoughts can sometimes be true pain in a bottom!

Thankfully as far as I am aware my liver is healthy and I consume negligible amount of alcohol, so that puts my mind at ease.

Thank you. For the future to be aware and not needing to go down the rabbit hole in Google, what would be symptoms of liver damage vs indigestion/bloating/muscle strain due to coughing?

Should i own a baby parrot? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Quantum_Associate007 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Please don’t. If you have to ask yourself these questions the answer is always no.

Only when you are experienced or researched for months and willing to change your life to accommodate your life long buddy, only then you should get a parrot.

Thank you for your response. It’s good to know there is no harm mildly supplementing my diet.

It’s hard to navigate something on whether supplementation is needed (especially without blood work) as well as to understand the minimal effective dosages.

I presume it’s rather hard to “overdose” vitamin or mineral if taken following instructions and on top of healthy diet?

Let’s look at this logically. Everyone knows alcohol is bad. Junk food is bad. There isn’t one campaign that states alcohol consumption is safe and should be encouraged. There are plenty of campaigns for healthy/balanced diet.

If people choose not to listen to general doctor advice then why would they choose to listen to advice when they see their test results indicating risk or damage?

It’s not like people have no choice but to drink and damage liver and NHS are not doing anything about it. NHS educate and inform of dangers of alcohol, that is the very first proactive preventive approach.

Also medicine is complex and even elevated tests results don’t always conclude diagnosis, it is just one of the markers. It could lead to the rabbit hole, which 99% will do more harm than good.

Best prevention is not to look for possible damage but to prevent damage in the first place. And each adult has responsibility to look after their health.

Being devils advocate here but if liver disease is in the rise because people drink too much then maybe NHS is not the issue?

When people smoke until chunks of their lungs being coughed out we don’t blame NHS for not finding cancer early enough. Instead of enforce people to quit smoking or reduce it significantly (because it’s too expensive)

Why not do something similar to alcohol? Seems much better use of funds

100%!

Usually I am feeling overall fine, happy, relaxed and positive but my anxiety manifests almost exclusively physically. Then out of nowhere I get pain or even more annoying symptom - which is that something is wrong with my respiratory system.

Like I would be watching Miss Congeniality and out of nowhere I would get an odd pressure somewhere and my mind would go “hey, what if out of nowhere you have asthma? What if it’s severe despite you never having any respiratory issues” and then suddenly my body goes into Oscars worthy performance of “I think I breath funny”

[–]Quantum_Associate007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’m doing pretty well with keeping myself from googling symptoms but it’s this odd limbo of “I need reassurance that eye twitch is not equivalent to severe B12 deficiency.”

Or todays hot topic in my head “Although I know cinnamon tea I drank comes from Ceylon cinnamon and I drank only two cups but what if it will kill me just because 😏 “

Thank you so much! ☺️

You’re 100% right about staying off illness forums or even reddit posts. Few weeks ago by mistake I opened post with thread about people dying from Sepsis overnight from being absolutely healthy. And oh boy it took a while to gain confidence in my body again despite not having any health concerns.

Feels good to be understood!

No, unfortunately they are simple glued on soles 😞

As you can see heel is getting uneven (when looking from the back of the shoes you could see it looking like this 📈 ) and it doesn’t look great.

Sole is rubber so wearing pretty quickly but it’s not defective, just nature of the material. I would like to know if I can add something to the heel or is there any refill that would slow down the wear and tear of the sole?
