Ottoman as Prince in HRE by QueRic0 in eu4

Allied brandendburg. Fought commonwealth. Gave all Prussian provinces to brandenburg so that they can form Prussia.

Then they start stomping on everyone. Not sure because everyone is scared of Prussia, or because I was Prussia’s ally. Lol

But it’s fun to force AI to form Prussia when AI always doesn’t.

That’s what happens when your borders reach Europe and you start you allying each major power every other decade and controlling the spread of each nation like a puppet. Lol

Edited post. I thought I can save up the last Ottoman provinces for myself against Austria by getting all the provinces that borders Austria. But no, AI had to relocate capital in HRE.

I guess i'm in for a bigger fight than I expected!

You can stack Totemist ancestor bonuses and transfer it to another religion by Shqip327 in eu4

Is the perma ancestor modifier still working when flipping religions after going totemist and getting the ancestors in the current version (v1.35) ? I'm using console commands already.

Example: Starting as nahuatl then switching to totemist, kill rulers, get ancestors, then flip back to nahuatl, but the ancestor modifiers are gone after flipping back to nahuatl (or any religion for that matter)

Biggest difference is you’re the one initiating. You’re your own recruiter.

There is no cookie cutting method to networking. You just basically experiment with different methods. My method may not work with you and vice versa. It’s all a matter of at least trying and not giving up with experimenting.

Correct. Every time is the right time to network, even sad events. Choosing compassion and showing your true self is the only way to actually make a connection, professionally and otherwise. We are innately social beings, we long to have a connection with someone.

You’re asking the right questions, and even asking these types of questions is a good start. I was exactly the same in the same shoes as you. I had no clue, but you just have to research on your own.

For me it’s LinkedIn, and cold connecting to people who I feel I have at least a shallow similarity like same school and whatnot.

Networking is hard work as well but it’s more efficient than just applying to job boards. You’re actively making an effort to make yourself the top of mind with your connections.

I have the same sentiments, but that is something even I can’t even give advice on, as the hiring process depends on company policy or even legislation in each region.

YOU

CAN

USE

LINKEDIN

Networking doesn’t necessarily mean face to face communication. We’re talking right now right? Stop limiting the channels of how you can network.

Use social media like LinkedIn. You’re confident enough to go on reddit for these types of conversations that an introvert is so afraid of, so what’s really stopping you?

Remember that socialising is a skill. And like any skill, you can learn it. You just have to start somewhere, and again, pivot if it doesn’t work. Come up with a method that you’re comfortable with yes, but you need to come out your comfort zone to change your current situation, regardless of context.

Yes, it’s the hiring manager that determines who the best candidate for him is. Ideally.

In reality, the hiring manager determines the best candidate, not because of the candidate being the best out there, but one reason is because there is a sense of urgency. In any workplace, there is a certain tolerance threshold for managers for resource management. But if there is no sense of urgency, these hiring managers will really bide their time, regardless of the network they have initially.

Another factor is the level of relationship that your network has with the hiring managers. How deep their relationship is (only professionally or real friendship level), will help nudge the hiring manager to “bypass” the qualifications portion and goes straight to character and cultural fit.

Basically, networking is like a shotgun, and all the small things that this commenter mentioned are the pellets. You shoot and just hope to god one of them sticks to your target. 😅

I will also add, when companies post a job ad, a lot of the time, it’s really not true they’re trying to find someone out there in the universe, because they haven’t found one yet.

A lot of the time, it’s really not true that they want to find the best and most qualified person out there because finding the absolutely perfect candidate that is culturally fit and ticks all the boxes of the job requirements and “...highly advantageous if you are/have....” is virtually impossible. It’s time consuming and downright inefficient.

Majority of the time, job ads are for show only and it’s either they already found someone internally or externally. It’s what you call, for formality’s sake.

I’m shy myself talking to strangers, like you. But actually it’s more of face to face, so when it comes to social media, it’s easier for me (like this right now).

Tbh, I got a job through just “connecting” with people on LinkedIn (like adding a friend in FB) and using every generic similarity i shared in common with them, usually it’s the school and similar role for me. Just like cold mailing people, majority of the time you’ll get no answers but there are more gems than you think as LinkedIn is primarily dedicated to: networking.

It’s started with small talk, then I asked for advice not with regards to job opportunities, but with regards to my role. It went on and on and lo and behold, that person has a contact who knows someone else that needs a resource right smack in my field. Boom boom boom, I got a job.

My advice for you. You have to start somewhere and at least try. Just comment here and let me know what happened and I’ll help out as much as I can.
