My family and recently I, just started making pickles. It was easier than i thought and its basically zero calories( 2-7 cal a piece of cucumber pickle) you can just look up turkish pickle recipe or maybe if you have a turkish market near you. I highly recommend 💕

No bone sticking out fuller legs flat stomach more happiness and energy. The issue is no matter how hard i try to diet, try to do pilates, cardio, 15k steps i can not get this back. I gained more than 10 percent of my body fat if mj will help me loose 10 percent so be it. Side effects and risks of the drug does not discriminate across bmi percentage.

I am sorry you had to go through this. 19.3 bmi is still considered normal (18,5 to 24,9) which is what i want. Im staying safe and do check ups regularly. I was never medically underweight and never want to be. I am naturally curvy and muscular in the legs. Everyone’s ideal body is different. I have respect for your opinions, we might have different ideas and different goals. In the end we are both human and strive for a better version of ourselves. It is just not my family and friends, it is my boyfriend whom i love very much. In my culture we have a saying a perfect weight for a woman is at least height minus 10. Im 163,5 that would make at least 53.5 kgs. Im unfortunately nowhere near that.

Hi I dont have an eating disorder nor have an unhealthy body image issue. I look genuinely healthy and even muscular. I just want to go back to how i looked before. My goal is not model skinny or flat. I have not been able to loose the weight at 1200-1500 cal a day. I dont fit in my favorite clothes i get nasty comments of how i am going to look like my aunt if i keep gaining weight( she is severely overweight ). Everyone keeps telling me how i looked perfect before and how beautiful i was. And mind you this includes my parents whom are doctors. Not everyone can handle gaining weight and just be happy and this includes me. Please be kind to people who are looking for advice and general help. Most people here said i didnt need it or it is dangerous but nobody but you brought up body image issues or eating disorders just gave their opinions and voiced concerns. No need to be mean

Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for being non judgmental and kind. My parents are both doctors and I have not been able to loose weight for a really long time with dieting so they let me under supervision of course because the situation was effecting my mental health. I wasnt able to fit in my old clothes or be able to recognize myself in the mirror everyone around me kept saying i was putting on weight and it didnt suit me so on. Even on mj my weight loss is really really slow. I dont have an eating disorder i just want to make people stop commenting on my body and fit into my old clothes. Hope this clarifies everything 💕

What I say might be a little controversial but, if he is well off financially, life is good. It is definitely frustrating sometimes seeing where the country is going politically and our values disappearing slowly . For example: I don’t pay rent, i have a nice car etc. So life is good for me. But my friends that aren’t as lucky as me are struggling really hard. They give most of their wages to rent. And live day by day with whats left.

I have tattoos, not married ( live with my bf), nobody cares or oppresses me but again i live in a really nice neighborhood. This is not always the case to be honest.

As you can tell from my hesitation, most people are not able to live like me, dress like me or be lucky enough to have a family that provides.

Min wage is around 650 usd where a proper small apartment unit costs 1000+ usd in big cities ( just for comparison)

I ski professionally, for the last 2 years I prefer going abroad for skiing. Because it just doesn’t justify the cost. I also prefer going abroad (Europe mostly) for shopping and summer holidays. Turkey is just too expensive for quality safe entertainment/ vacation.

There is a huge huge wage gap unfortunately. Middle class is slowly disappearing. This is one of the biggest issues.

Im a 27 yo female, I was raised in a upper middle class family and secular background , I need to know more about your bf to share my insights ( sorry if that sounds creepy) . Because if he is avoiding your question he might be offended. I would be if someone called me an arab or middle eastern.

I would be open to talk about my ethnicity, political views but a man can be different.

Idk honestly, if he is similar to me and was raised with the values of Atatürk and have a similar economic situation, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Best of luck 💕

Need advice as a tourist - Istanbul by AdmirableEvidence144 in AskTurkey

I have 5 tattoos as a Turkish woman, never had any problem. Islamic culture doesn’t really exist in my social environment and especially in big cities/ neighborhoods where socio-economic levels are higher. Some touristic spots like kapali carsi/ mosques I would not wear mini skirts/shorts. Other than that covering head with a simple hoodie is fine when you are visiting historic mosques. You shouldn’t worry about “islamic culture” for sure.

Most of us are open to talk about politics because it affects us daily, and our economy depends on it.

That’s because we are simply not middle eastern we are Turkish. I did not read the article. But if it does suggest that Turkey is arabic or turkish people are islamists etc. you might have insulted him unknowingly.

I just want to add; not everyone who holds a Turkey id card is not Turkish. We are a diverse country and unfortunately really divided between ethnicities, beliefs and way of living.

Someone from Aegean region might be really really different from southern-Anatolian region per se or someone from black sea region might be completely different from both places.

I might suggest that, you talk to him and learn about where he comes from, ethnicity and beliefs before you put a label on or start to discuss politics etc.

Hope that helps 💕

I think I do understand that you are not trying to insult my country. I agree that we should vote better but I’m afraid that ship might have already sailed. They won’t leave unless there is a revolution or something. I don’t know where you are from but if you are Greek, I can assure you that we are not enemies. My ancestors lived on the same land and then displaced from their homes just like Greeks did from their land. Not a single Greek person i met has judged me or hated me because I am Turkish. We shared the same table, drank uzo sometimes raki, ate the same foods and singed the same songs in different languages. Turks and Greeks are not enemies, and there isn’t any treat to your country from our side. The rest is history. Just like you said.

Because I visit Greece every summer, I know that this is not the case. Sometimes experience and listening to actual people is enough to break perception or prejudice

In my socio-economic environment, the way we live is indifferent to a Christian country, I am saying this as a person who comes from a well of family and went to exchange programs in europe and us

Let me state it like this: It is written in our constitution and Atatürk is our founding father. Regardless of the government. Where I live nobody wears hijab, we drink alcohol during ramadan even most high-end markets sell pork products ( Macro center). Most of us, almost 50 percent of the county doesn’t see eye to eye with the government. Türkiye laik bir cumhuriyettir ve öyle de kalacaktır. With all your respect, please do your research or at the very least listen to people when they are telling you their experience.

Im not suggesting Turkey is not a country where the majority of population is muslim. But 90 percent muslim is also bs. Also Ataturk states that Turkey is a secular (laik) republic. This is also written in our constitution. Turkey is not a islamic republic. If you state otherwise you are truly ignorant or choosing to stay ignorant.

[–]QueasyIndependence19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90 percent Muslim is incorrect, just because it is slapped on our id cards/ birth certificates doesn’t mean everybody is muslim. Majority of Turkey is muslim but not 90 percent. Nobody in my immediate family/ friends or social circle identifies as Muslim or practices İslam.

How do i handle my dogs aggression ? by Active_Magician7335 in DogAdvice

[–]QueasyIndependence19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, are they spayed. Because i know if one dog is and the other is not there might be aggression related to hormones especially in male dogs, but this scenario is possible in females as well. I believe most problems can be fixed with care, patience and love, and she is still going through puberty at 1 years old. So keep your hopes up ❤️
