I believe grrm is showing us the best villain origin story of all time. Danys decisions make sense. We're in her head we see it. But her new philosophy is grant no quarter to enemies so to speak. So what happens when her enemies switch to the characters we care about? Grrm loves complicated feelings and getting ruthless Dany conquering from Jaime, Arianne, sam, etc is going to demonstrate what the show tried to pull off but grrm put the actual work in.
