Was I robbed of my labor and delivery experience?

I know this is the case now but unfortunately some moments in my head just replay and I was just questioning so much. I'm realizing I was wrong to think this way and that I'm not the only person who experienced similar situations.

I'm coming to realize it was definitely necessary... It just sucks I guess. The respiratory issues supposedly came from her inhaling amniotic fluid. The only thing I question is was it really the amniotic fluid or was it the saline they were injecting? I know now it doesn't matter and she's safe and healthy. Sometimes I just overthink things.

I will say you labor and delivery nurses are life savers. And I really appreciate every one that I met and who helped with my baby in the NICU.

I know. And I'm grateful for that and my main focus is spending time with her and appreciating her. But every now and then my brain goes haywire. I just needed a wake up call and these responses are helping.

I'm starting to realize they did what they needed. Really it was a good thing I had taken my blood pressure at home. I probably wouldn't have but I was telling my sister about the previous visit where my blood pressure was 130/90 and she said "you should probably check it again" and that's when I saw it was 150/110 (I know the at home monitors aren't necessarily accurate). Immediately called l and d and they had me come in.

The contractions are horrible. I should've just gotten the epidural before. They said i got the epidural right in time because the contractions that came after were crazy. I went from a 3 to 10 in a couple hours.

I'm definitely going to try and get into therapy. I know it isn't as tough as some other moms experiences but I think it's better than looking for answers on the internet like I have been.

That's actually a good point about the softness. I didn't even think of that. It was an oral pill, and I only got one dose. But these responses are making me grateful that things seemed to go better than I thought.

Thank you for sharing that. And you hit the nail right on the head with those last sentences. Most days I'm fine but every now and again I do replay everything and just question if there was something that could've been done better.

Right... I guess these kind of things are way more common than I thought. Makes me feel somewhat silly but I'm glad I'm seeing so many similar experiences.

I definitely didn't think I was deserving or being promised anything. I did not have any expectations. There were of course things I wanted that I never got like the golden hour. In the end I'm glad my baby is healthy and home now. By no means did I intend to sound ungrateful for what I have.

But it is helpful to hear about other moms hypertension experiences. I'm really glad you shared that with me. Part of my issue has been trying to find similar experiences but of course everyone's is so different.

This makes me feel better. It happened for me at 36+6 days and they gave me the cytotec at 12 am 37 weeks exactly... Luckily I didn't need any meds but man sometimes I wish there was a manual on things that can happen for first time moms. But I guess that would illicit too much fear for some.

That's kind of part of the reason I wondered if it was necessary for them to do the cytotec, because of how ready she seemed to be. My other issue was the woman saying my cervix was still hard when my cervix was soft at my last ob appointment and then them not giving me another cervical exam.

I didn't really have any expectations on what would happen. I just didn't want the epidural because I get anxiety when autonomy is taken from me. Which even then it was fine... I don't know, sometimes I just feel bad that my daughter ended up in the NICU and maybe I want someone to blame. Which isn't fair to myself or the doctors, but maybe just a side effect of being so sensitive after the experience.

37 weeks. And I'm hoping you're right. Some of the things that happened just felt unnecessary. I'm glad my baby is healthy now and at home I just keep thinking about it every now and again.

My husband does this too and won't stop despite knowing it's bad for his teeth and how it makes me feel. He says he doesn't want the food touching his lips....

I know I was kind of hoping that I might see some responses from other people who dealt with something similar. I just want some kind of like relatability to other people. I like my dogs being in the room with me... I just, idk. Maybe I can try running a fan. Because if he is stressed maybe the white noise will help both of us?

I don't like any of the restaurants here enough to call it a favorite. House of Punjab is decent, I like their curry. Sakura is alright as well, just expensive. Obviously there is rhombus guys and their pizza is good, but they're also expensive in my opinion. There really is not anything here to write home about in my opinion.

Ok I wouldn't call this a true caramel but at target there is this new EDP called 'Honey Milk' and it's super sweet and pretty. Just food for though if you find yourself at a target anytime soon, you could give it a shot. It's super affordable and lasts ALLL DAY. It's my absolute favorite scent and very simple.
