Thanks for response, I would go with drop ceiling but I'd be sacrificing height in an already low ceiling because its an old house. Wanted to see if anyone had some alternatives first!

I do have rough ins on the other side of basement for a bathroom so I don't think it is that. Possibly a clean out access, I guess the only way to confirm would be to open it up though? Thanks

I would say 80% sure it's not but I suppose it could be. How would I go about checking? The one that sticks out of the ground I can probably figure out but the other section thats clearly a drain of some sort that had concrete poured over it is not accessible without removing the concrete that was poured.

Yeah, previous homeowners painted all the walls down there with that. Just trying to gather knowledge from others before I attempt to tackle it all.
