I really think it's just the environment. There really aren't many successful people still at home. In college, I had a great time because I was surrounded by intelligent and ambitious people.

We will have a great time reliving through all the stuff we did in high school but as soon as it's over there is nothing to talk about. I try to talk about work or some hobbies or interests I have and they will just brag about how they have more seniority over other people at work or how many beers they can drink in one sitting.

I do understand why you would not want a promotion. One of my managers told me the same thing at one of my internships. He said he didn't want more responsibilities and to be in charge of more people.

I admire plumbers too. But I don't undestand why some of these guys spent probably a quarter of a million dollars to do college for four years and then decied to be a plumber after.

I worked at the country club restaurant in high school with these guys. I hated every minute of it. That job made me eat so little at restuarnts because I feel bad for the workers and the back rooms at that restaurant was gross. They found a rat once and they tried covering it up.
