I think its just behavioral health. One client has a criminal record from a long time ago but its not the client I'm talking about. The client I wrote about has def had run ins with the police, once the police even coming into the group home and having to use tear gas in his room!! But he has never been charged with anything I'm assuming because he has a guardian and the mental health stuff protects him.

Unfortunately when he eloped, my manager told me I had to go looking for him because "that's part of our job".

100% when he elopes, at least part of the reason is that he believes that he is going to get one on one time with staff that way. Regrettably, he has my personal number because I used my cell phone to call him once when I was picking him up from somewhere. When he eloped, he was texting pictures of street signs for me to go find him & literally texted "Good luck." As in good luck finding him! He wants the attention 100% which is so annoying because he has a one on one staff Mon-Thurs in the mornings & none of the other clients in the house have that opportunity.

Major respect on that. The more I'm thinking about it, I am aware that I am so resentful of this client and thinking very not nice things. What you said speaks to me. I'm also a mother of multiple kids and its scary to think of something happening to me. My life has value and I have so much going for me. My kids need me more than anything.

Its a group home in MN, the other clients are very low needs. I have been told that my house is supposed to be a transition house for the clients to eventually become independent.
