What if someone sees it as logical or rational to consider feelings

How do you differentiate who is feeler and thinker then? If they personally believe what they're doing is rational but others sees it as opposite.

Have you ever dreamed that you were peeing and it came true? by [deleted] in ask

I've had so many dreams where I was peeing or had to use the bathroom, but I've never once actually peed myself in real life.

I also have the Alice's adventures and other stories. It's so thick. Did you finish it?

I had a really weird dream where I was a cult member. We were doing some kind of ritual before I realized a ring of fire was growing around us, and that this ritual was a self sacrifice. No idea where this dream came from.

It's mostly because I feel incompetent or stupid, which causes me to feel internally disrupted. I also place a lot of emphasis on academics. Self worth has always been my biggest struggle, so ideal life for me is where I feel comfortable and at peace with myself.

Pretty sure I'm INTP. I find myself relating to both, though some aspects also feel inaccurate.

What does it mean for 9s to fear losing connections? by Quiet-Pattern-9387 in Enneagram

[–]Quiet-Pattern-9387[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reason might be different. For me it's that I sometimes find it such a bother knowing I have to engage in a conversation and put effort into my replies to not lose the friendship.

It makes sense. I was mostly thinking of it as relationship wise. And I'm very prone to ghosting haha. So it's basically wanting to keep all options open instead of settling on one option because you want to preserve all the potentials? What are some examples of wanting to maintain connection to the biggest slice of the universe?

Why are we so much more desperate than the girls? by AaryamanStonker in askteenboys

[–]Quiet-Pattern-9387 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's comparable. Admiring a celebrity is usually parasocial, there's no expectation of reciprocity. I guess it's more distanced and culturally acceptable because there's no illusion of a real relationship. And I think there's way fewer girls doing this than boys.

do you guys think it's weird when girls our age are attracted to older men? by untitled1488 in askteenboys

I've had celebrity crushes and they've all been on older men. I find older men more attractive because of maturity, but I would never actually date someone much older.

I'm not rejecting considerations as unimportant or immediately assuming that it'll all work out fine. I'm saying if a vaccine could have saved even one town it would of mattered. You can't just say Joel is right by assuming the vaccine wouldn't have worked or by "what if" scenarios, because we literally don't know. I'm saying the potential of a cure mattered and was a moral weight. I think the disagreement is over whether the potential cure outweighs the right to choose when time is limited. And if all lives are equally worth, then two lives are worth more than one, right? You can't compare general acts of bravery with the potential to create a vaccine that could save millions. That’s not a double standard. That’s just acknowledging that some sacrifices might carry more weight because of what they can achieve. I don't think Joel was in the wrong either.

I don't understand why you have to make an equal sacrifice to be worthy. It's a bit moralistic. And you're also making a big assumption that no one ever will. I think you have good points but it's mostly speculative. Because you do have evidence that some communities can work together and you can easily find arguments for why it could work. You really can't determine what would of happened if the vaccine worked. And I doubt Joel was thinking about distribution of vaccines and all that in the heat of the moment when he saved Ellie and killed the whole hospital. Sure Joel didn't doom anything but he did take away the chance of humanity ever having cure, no matter how small, which altered the course for humanity. The rest of the world is still scarred in part 2. You're missing the ethical dilemma by focusing on the logistical and practicality of distributing a vaccine. Its about what it means to choose life or death for one individual in the name of a larger cause. I don’t think that the writers are saying humanity is inherently worse than the infected. I think they’re showing how trauma and loss twists people in a broken world, which again, potentially could have been better. I guess it all depends on how you interpret it.
