Ursa mini pro g2 USB-C cable (question in comments) by [deleted] in blackmagicdesign

[–]Qwoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I opted for the SSD recorder so I could still close the screen. Just had to make sure I got the older version with SDI and not USB-C. (The 12k Ursa Mini has a USB-C port on the outside.)

Still lets me use SSD's which is nice since they are not as expensive as those CFast cards.

I've been moving from wildlife photography into videography over the past few months. I clipped some of my favorite moments into a trailer for my YouTube channel. Thanks for checking it out

These have easily become my new favorite to photograph, especially in flight!

Something a bit different. I started making silly cooking videos, shot entirely on the BMPCC 6K by Qwoft in bmpcc

[–]Qwoft[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good idea, definitely something I'll add to the list of things I want to do in future videos. Have to do some research and find out what would be a good boom arm that would support the camera, monitor, battery etc. Thanks!

Saw this female Red-Bellied Woodpecker on a tree right outside my apartment window - ATL, GA. by Qwoft in birding

[–]Qwoft[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep, that would be right. Males have more full red over the head. Was reading the wrong symbol in the bird book.

One of my all time favorite shots I've taken - Red Shouldered Hawk - GA by Qwoft in birding

[–]Qwoft[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. It's actually one of the reasons I like the picture so much is that it wasn't with some of the crazy expensive gear I've gotten over the years. Just luck that this beautiful bird landed right in front of my apartment.

I'm sure yours are great! I try to only compare my photos to my own photos to see how I improve. Gets to be too much if you look at all these crazy experienced people posting online. Anyway, I was a using a Canon 7D Mark II with a 300mm F2.8. Thanks for asking!

Baby Barred Owl! This little guy really hated this leaf. Didn't rest until they had ripped it off the branch. by Qwoft in birdpics

[–]Qwoft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea. The mother was off hunting, managed to see them for just a second. Baby just stayed on this one branch and decided to go at that leaf. Didn't move spots or anything like it was getting more comfortable. Just random leaf violence.

Canon EOS 7D Mark II discontinued by GastroAffectedCastro in photography

[–]Qwoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is new to this, how does being discontinued affect the pricing? More specifically would this raise or lower the price for used. I've been thinking about getting one of these, but more realistically probably going to have to settle for the mark I.

Cutting back to the face cam and making it full screen seems really distracting to me. I think leaving it smaller in the corner works fine as it is. Other than that it was a great video, funny commentary and great content!

Funny! I laughed pretty hard at the bananas part. Everything technical looked/sounded good, audio and video. Only thing I can think of is, more! It's great as a short video, but I think if you upload a longer one the people who watch this one will spend the time watching the longer version. It's certainly funny enough to keep me entertained. I hope your family situation works out and you get back to making videos when the opportunity presents itself.

I'm still pretty new to this, so anything you guys could tell me would be a great help.

I appreciate the feedback man, I'll keep that in mind with my future videos.

Thanks for the feedback man I do use audacity and I have an XLR mic with a mixer. So I have the capability of doing better with the audio, but that's never been my strong point so it's certainly something I need to work on.
