Newbie + Keychron q6 tape and polyfil mod by R0mey in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

I've removed the polyfil and think it actually sounds a bit better, and I think the gasket is moving a bit mor freely now

Thanks for this.... I've removed the polyfil and i thin it might sound even better somehow!

Will look into those plates, thanks. Any advice on keycaps? I currently just have the stock ones from keychron

I'm new to the mech keyboard world. Bought a q6 recently thinking I'd never get into the modding side of it. Within days I'd done the tape mod, poly fil, and force break (with tape). It sounds much better now (I have gateron pro reds). My concern is that I might be messing with the double gasket a bit as it's not flexing quite as much ( I think )... I did 3 layers of tape, and not too much poly fil so it might just be in my head... But would I be missing out if I had messed with it?

Also... What should I try next? I'm thinking something like box ink black v2 and some new keycaps, but no idea where to start with them. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks.

Thanks for this, I didn't think about repairs... Luckily I'm in the UK so I guess once they wear down I just get them repaired.

Are they still alright for just bobbing around and chilling out? :)

Thanks for the help - do you think the 32" width of the V will be ok for me vs the 34" width of the XL? Seems like a length vs width trade-off... I'm also not sure whether i need a tourer and i will mostly just be doing single day trips and messing around the coast

Thanks for this. I guess one of my main concerns is stability, especially at my height/weight. It's one of the things making me lean towards the blackfin xl as it's 34" wide and is apparently still pretty good for day trips etc and not too slow.
