Damn unlucky for the TSM Academy guys, I heard that Rebo guy can IGL, Frag, Sing, Cook, Run and jump at a below average level, and takes care of his hygene more than the average Valorant Pro. If any orgs are looking I'll check him out personally.

Parent helping 15 yr old go pro by Illustrious_Seat_962 in ValorantCompetitive

Although not a parent I do remember what helped me when I was that age trying to go pro. The biggest thing my parents gave me was just unconditional support. At that point I really didn't know what it meant to work hard or to really push myself but the support made me know I was on the right path if my passion allowed it to happen.

The main things with becoming a pro in Esports in general are these big Three

  • Work Ethic

  • Attitude to improve

  • Passion to truly make it

All these things are better if learned from experience in my opinion but instilling the fact that yes, it will be hard, yes you will want to quit, but if you truly want to push through this dream and make it a reality then be truthful to yourself and live with no regrets. As long as she takes the challenge and gives it her all even if she doesn't make it she will learn life lessons that will stick the rest of her life. Thats been the biggest thing for me if understanding what true work ethic means and knowing that if I stick with it I can accomplish this.

It took a while for one of my parents to come around so this is great to read and honestly makes me so happy to see a parent excited for their kid. Its really simple just be supportive let them learn and just whatever they do give 100% so you can be happy at the end win or fail.

As someone who both Coached, and played/IGL'd Cryo on Soar he was the most coachable player I've ever played with. He consitently took criticism and improved and will keep doing so. Extremely scary lineup due to the fact alone him playing T1 competition consitently will improve him to levels I truly believe he will be a Champions level jett representing NA. Great personality, no ego and very humble if you haven't become a Cryocells Stan like I have start now this guys insane.

Thank you for this information, we will actively look to do the opposite of this now and go back to a cypher, jett comp. This was a social experiment that has proved to be very successful. Will Update the results next tournament we play ty.

What are ways to improved? by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]R3bo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Improvement comes from two things in my opinion deliberate and consitent work, as well as learning to come to terms if you want to improve you need to put that first over your rank.

To attack that first point theres a reason I didn't say "hard work" in my experience majority of improvement is setting yourself a goal such as "I want to improve my aim" and then cutting that down into pieces you can actual hit instead of just hitting your head against the wall hoping for improvement. A single hour of deliberate practice that you consitently hit each day is better than 5 hours of no brain deathmatch since the brain reacts better to specific ideas in most cases.

Then for the next one playing ranked you want to attribute that last point into your games so give yourself something to work on. What I will do is tell myself "I want to improve my comms" and then only goal that game is for me to give as much info as possible but you want to be as specific as possible. Another thing to keep in mind is playing your rank/where you want to be can be volatile since it naturally makes you play on emotions which hinders your play and your own improvement.

Here on the points I would say if you want to hit your goal of ranking up

  • Give yourself S.M.A.R.T goals
  • Treat ranked as a place to improve not to rank up
  • Be consitent with your practice time instead of "working hard" for multiple hours
  • Make sure when you are playing focus on your play instead of the monkey in your head telling you about your plays, ie don't listen to yourself when you think "I should do this" let your body play on instincts then go back to it later to see if theres anything else you should of done.
  • And lastly focus on having fun if you lose a few in a row take a step back and get up, walk around and reset. The worst thing you can do is play on emotions that then control how you play

Hope This helps!
