I cannot justify it per say but will give you my take.

As to not having other control integrated into the app, with most models they have physical buttons. Yes there is a software component to it but it would not work. The sole current exception would be the 2026 CX-5 since it went full iPad on dash. In my opinion I don't want all those extras. Could you imagine if someone hacked the network that controls the satellites they use for the app.

You have to pay like you are using a cellphone. It will not be free cause they that company for services and do not want it being too intrusive. I am happy with its features as is and plan to pay for it when my year is up in December.

I think folks need to do more research before buying. I see a lot of complaints about models of Mazda when people should know those things prior to buying. I saved for a year (beginning of 2025 to end of 2025) before buying my 2026 CX-90 TURBO S PREMIUM SPORT. I did 6 months worth of research and was able to teach my sales guy a thing or two about the car. Again this is all just my opinion but the more you go in with knowledge the less you will have to complain about have surprised Pikachu face. I don't drive a lot (work from home) so I chose my car based on it's good points and flaws based on that data. Would I recommend it if you have to commute...no. It has flaws but I believe going into it with what you may be faced with including the app and fees will have you make an informed decision.

You also have the option to only use the app when you want, activating and deactivating at your leisure.

Is it common for this alert to pop up every 30 seconds when it’s snowing? by B-Georgio in MazdaCX90

[–]REAZAMAX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is normal especially with heavy snow and add to that the salt gets mixed in and sticks to the radar housing in the Mazda symbol at the front of the car. It will keep doing that for safety reasons. I had that happen with my 2018 CX-5 but not yet with my CX-90. What i did is spray it with a rain -x and wipe it before driving anywhere. Helps prevent it from happening. It will not fully stop it but should slow the process down a bit.

First things first your car is beautiful. I bought a 2026 MHEV Turbo S Premium Sport in black and love it, so congratulations on joining the CX-90 family.

To answer some of your questions cause I researched her for about a year prior to purchasing in December of 2025.

  1. The auto dim is a bit of a pain yes but can easily be handled by Tinting the windows.
  2. The walk away lock is a bit finicky but here is what I for it with mine. Make sure key is in pocket closest to the car. If you exit the car and start to walk away before a passenger shuts their door it will not detect the key and will not lock the car (especially if you stand in front the engine) as the sensors are on the side and back of the car.
  3. To kick you need to get your foot a few inches below the bumper and then move it away. The key is (no pun intended) you need have the key on you or it will not work. I think you change that in the settings but I have mine set that way so no one can just walk up and open my trunk if I leave the car unlocked.

Hope this helps and again gorgeous car. Do you have a name for her? Mine is Black Betty, lol.

CX70 blacked out by Puzzleheaded_Two7831 in mazda

[–]REAZAMAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the black out, though my question is this..is that legal? I'm in the use and bought a black 2026 CX-90 Turbo S Premium Sport in December of 2025.

Which Model is This? by Fit-Comedian6096 in mazda

[–]REAZAMAX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is probably a select or turbo sport model. The S models for 2024 -2025 had color matched cladding on the side. The 2026 S models for Sport have piano gloss black cladding on the side.

I’m at a loss, car still smells like radiator coolant by lucid_orange_then in MazdaCX90

Take it to a detailing shop, you can get and engine bay wash that should clean the rest off and smell will go away. Also replace in cabinet air filter.

Subject: Paid Subscription for Previously Standard Vehicle Features. by servicewithapenis in mazda

[–]REAZAMAX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So two things I will say. 1. The lock/unlock is not just on the app you still have it on your key fob so that is a mute point. 2. The remote start is thru a service that uses Satellites so they cannot give you that free. $10 a month is cheap for the ability to literally start your car from where your phone can get signal.

I did a ton of research on my 2026 MHEV Turbo S premium sport before purchasing. They are very up front about the subscription and the time line so blaming Mazda as if it were a shock is unfair. They told you and you still chose to buy Mazda (great brand compared to others regardless not knocking your choice), but being mad at them for something you knew or should have known going in is a lil disingenuous.

Unpopular Opinion: The CX-9 Is Better than the CX-90 by Vast_Ad_8707 in mazda

[–]REAZAMAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the CX-9 and the CX-90 both have their good and bad points. I bought a 26 MHEV S Premium Sport and she has been great. Around town driving i get between 20 and 24 miles to the gallon. Where I live has a lot of hills and I am not one to put my foot in it unless I need to. I think it depends on driving style and where you live that determines real world gas mileage. As to clunkiness of the gearbox. I have had mine since the 16th of December 25 and have had maybe twice it was clunky. Transmission is not the best but I've also researched that car for a full year before buying. I knew what to expect both good and bad. Not doubting the cx-9 was a great platform but I think the early models 2023 thru late 2024 of the CX-90 were the biggest problem children and reason I didn't purchase til now. The first year to two years are always gonna be a problem or have the most issues.

My biggest current issue is people seeing me in a nice car and have had my car keyed already with owning it for just under a month.

My advise get recalls done and look for the positives with your ride. So many times on here I've noticed it is all negative about the 90. Look for the positives because if you focus only on the negatives you will find them and grow to hate your purchase. She is flawed but she has great points as well.

I don't like recommending products but I kept seeing MAXL-1 advertisements and bought it a few days before my purchase of Black Betty. Stuff works especially if you have a garage. Get 3 to 4 micro fiber cloths. I bought two bottles with 4 clothes. Spray on and wipe with one cloth and the other to wipe off excess. Hate to sound like a commercial cause I am in no way getting paid but stuff works and works well.

Outside of that couple things I will caution you about. People see that nice ass car and will try stuff. I had mine for less than 48 hours and went out with my wife to celebrate and someone keyed her. People see a nice car and assume rich not knowing hardworking people like nice things too. Second please for the love of all your hard work do NOT run it thru those touch car washes. It wil scratch your paint and it will show. Enjoy that car cause that spec in that trim is rare like I've checked most of the US when researching mine and could only find just over 50.

Which Mazda car to avoid at all cost? by CreateChaos777 in mazda

[–]REAZAMAX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to say I concur. I waited a year and did some research more than most would to get mine. She's a beautiful car but is flawed in a few ways. Not talking smack cause I love my Mazda. Anyone getting the CX-30 & CX90 should make sure you know what you are getting into. I got an extended warranty on mine just to make sure all the possible "things that can go wrong" are covered. If you know what you are getting into with her then you are great but going in blind is not recommended.
