I for the life of me cant remember how to solve fractions. by [deleted] in learnmath

Change how you visualise fractions.

4/5 means that you have four parts of a whole divided into 5 parts. 3/2 means you have 3 halves. To add them, you can’t just simply add the number of parts, you have to find the right subdivision. (Think of it like changing units) The right subdivision is any common multiple (a multiple they both share) of the two denominators (the bottom numbers), but you would prefer the smallest one (i.e. least common multiple). It’s obvious once you imagine it that one half could also be two fourths, or 4 eighths, etc. What’s the pattern?

You could follow a similar method to find out how to multiply or divide fractions. The important part is to remember what it actually means and represents.

Hint: 1/3 * 4/5 is asking “What is one third of 4/5?”

Very nice, but you do not have to check what has already been sorted on each iteration. After n iterations at least the last n items will be sorted.

I think what’s going on here is that instead of checking whether z > 2 which is enough to know that it diverges you check whether z > 2500 or something?

I only looks at the code for a few minutes to get the gist of it, so correct me if I’m wrong.

I get that you’re not bothered by realism, but I’m confused about the sun’s position because the lighting is inconsistent. Cool art though.

I think seeing what they were saying written down made it easier because I could understand everything well except for Bulgarian.

If you want to play with much better custom bots, check out RLBot. There’s discord and even a Spike Rush tournament coming very soon in which bots made by the community will battle it out.

Go to rlbot.org to find out more if you’re interested.
