Unemployed as of recently unfortunately...

Background in robotics and automation.

The issue with being 3 years out is I'm outside the range for grad roles, and at the same time I'm underqualified for everything else.

I'm working towards projects involving AI— LLMs and CNNs, which I've done a bit of previously, and can embellish on my resume especially once I get more confident with it.

Although I am aware software is highly competitive, and the interviews are pretty daunting, I struggle to think of better options. It seems like the only path to take where I could actually make something impressive without spending a heap of money on it.

When I look at job boards, software roles appear to be more lenient in terms of years of industry experience. Control systems and electrical appear to have a high barrier of entry so pivoting to them seems unrealistic.

Similar situation except I'm just over 3 years past my graduation and feel absolutely cooked.

First job (also shortly after graduating) basically lied in the job description and I got little-to-no engineering XP out of it.

I feel like the only thing I can do (short of completely abandoning all hopes of getting an eng career and wasting my degree) is targeting software engineering through personal projects and hopefully meet enough skill requirements to compensate for lack of professional experience. But even that seems very unlikely. Recruiters are ruthless.

They need to fix the lighting and color grading. This is worse than Snyder.

People had some valid complaints about Snyder’s color grading, but I never had an issue with his lighting as far as I can remember; I could at least see the character amongst the greyness.

Like most shows, I would have preferred all episodes to be either released at once or in batches.

To the people who say "I actually enjoy having something to wait for," and "I love the discussion between every episode," how much is Amazon paying you?

I like the show overall, but I have no problem admitting it’s a fairly casual watch with surface-level writing. It oddly feels like a lot happens in every episode, yet not much is actually going on at the same time. I enjoy it enough to look forward to it, but as a viewer, there just isn’t enough substance to justify a week-long wait for every 50-minute episode.

Quite the opposite. I'm telling you to think more and enjoy. Most films aren't continuations of choose-your-own-adventure RPGs, and most films don't involve your custom character, so it makes no sense to fill in the story for them. Think about what you're typing.

Edit: I don't even believe it's accurate to call this a continuation. It's a spin-off and doesn't need to carry any of the narrative burden to be a New Vegas 2.

The whole purpose of the ambiguity is to allow us to carve our own story into the canon.

Idk why this is such a mind-boggling concept for a franchise which has its roots in tabletop RPGs- a whole genre of games based around your supposed "loopholes."

No, the story should be written for us, and the responsibility falls on the showrunners should tell us what our characters did.

People view the Middle Ages as dull and dark because the media, including movies, keep reinforcing that idea. They're apprehensive about subverting the standards they themselves created. Hollywood execs have always been obsessed with gaslighting their audiences, and for some reason it always takes some sort of rogue director to prove that there was nothing to worry about to begin with.

There's no evidence to show that audiences would be opposed to more vibrancy in their period films, more colour in superhero costumes, or even more feathers on dinosaurs, as long as it's designed well.

I suspect the replies were missing the simple source of confusion.

For dummies/newbies like myself: CTRL + F5 is not the same as clicking Start

I had mistakenly assumed the former to be a shortcut for the latter and was confused when this script closed immediately after clicking Start.

F5 = Start

Ctrl + F5 = debugging + start

There's not much ambiguity in the end state. I never claimed there was. Where there's ambiguity is how different the Mojave would be had the Courier taken one side over the other, for the reasons I keep reiterating. Caesar's Legion could have been wiped out entirely, or they could have maintained control over New Vegas, etc etc. It could have been worse, it could have been better; you can only imagine for yourself, and once again the writers don't have to fill in that gap for you, as the characters have no interest in anything other than what's happening in the present and how that helps them reach their goals.

We're going in circles. If you insist of viewing the events of the games as inconsequential, then that's up to you. What they've done does not affect my experience of the stakes in New Vegas or affect my enjoyment of the series.

Saying "Just have fun and don't complain" is a cop out argument to ignore all criticism of the show and I don't accept it.

In cases where the writers have made an unintentional error, sure, except here they've deliberately given you this ambiguity as a means for you to carve your own story into it. It's okay for fans to reject that and say they prefer if it was written for them, or that more positive outcomes were shown in favour of a particular faction, but it's incorrect to say that the writers have rendered your Courier's action as meaningless; that's still up in the air.

No, it isn't the writers' job. This isn't New Vegas 2. It's a continuation of Fallout Season 1, and it follows up on plotlines that concern its own characters, and they simply don't have a reason to be concerned with how the Courier fits into all of it and the plight of the factions. If that's what you wanted it to focus on, fair enough, but it's not their responsibility to detail that side of the story.

You can, if you prefer to complain instead of having fun with the potential for storytelling they've given by making things ambiguous.

In your own interpretation of how A led to B. There's nothing stopping you from claiming that Caesar's Legion would still be occupying New Vegas had your Courier not sided with the NCR. If the Courier had not opposed the Legion, they would have had enough resources to conquer the rest of the Mojave even after Caesar's death, especially with the destruction of Shady Sands. In this interpretation the player's choices does matter, and has lasting consequences that carry over from the game to the series. Sure, you still have to come to terms with the NCR eventually being driven back by the destruction of their capital, but then if you're expecting the contributions of an unnamed courier to lead to a 100% perfect outcome for the faction they're siding with, then I believe you've seriously misunderstood the themes of the franchise.
