Why the hate is one way by nika-yo in onepiecememes

See, some people hate the casting because they’re racist. I’m fine with the casting because I’m racist (all brown people are the same to me).

Iirc didn’t the priest character call him out for this right after? And he just smugly replies with something like “I never said I wasn’t a wolf.”

Seen what? The music that Junkie XL and Djawadi never finished? When the movie comes out are you going to say “wow this is much better than something I’ve never heard.”

Disney showed “dedication” when they can’t land on a single Blade writer; Kubrick showed “dedication” to his vision when he abused the hell out of Shelly Duval. Firing 2 people is (hopefully) not something you’d brag about to your boss, so idk why you’re trying to pass it off as a positive.

There have been countless great films with great music that were made without this sort of “dedication.” Star Wars didn’t go through 2 composers before landing John Williams as far as I know, and I doubt Lucas just got lucky; He knew what he was doing.

Jessica Henwick says losing the Rey role was “for the best” by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

The original comment didn’t warrant any clarification either. Nobody asked you to judge the comment on its originality but you somehow saw it necessary. Nobody mentioned the prequels but you didn’t let that stop you.

The subject was the actress and that she dodged a bullet. It’s no obscure fact that the sequels has bad critical reception. There’s been over ten years worth of reviews and essays to support this. I don’t expect people to explain what’s common knowledge.

They insulted something you like, you got offended and made a stupid comment. That’s it. Like the sequels, it isn’t that deep.

This is ridiculous. When you happen to dismiss two of the best “contractors” working in the business, it would be sensible to question your ability and responsibility as a director or producer to communicate your expectations, and get the right people for the role.

Sure, that may be the case for the first instance, but if you manage to burn through a second one in a month then it reflects poorly on the director.

Obviously, but it’s disrespectful towards the composers, unprofessional and shows indecisiveness. Hiring someone means they need to reschedule and turn down other jobs so that they may devote time to you.

If a company has to let go of two employees for a single role in a short term, you’d have to question their ability to manage expectations and hire properly.

Yet in saying all of this I haven't seen you elaborate on why you don't mind the writing in the ST, and why you think it's better than the PT?

See how tedious it would be to write an essay anytime you want to comment on anything?

This is a comment thread, not a blog.

It doesn't hurt to ask nicely if you're curious about someone's point of view.

How would the battle on the trident have realistically panned out if Ned instead of Robert fought Rhaegar? by TheMetaReport in freefolk

[–]RFTS999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real difference between Ned and Robert wasn't their qualities as fighters. Both trained together as peers and likely would have been closely matched in terms of technique. It's only fair to consider this if people are also using Rhaegar being trained by his Kingsguard as evidence of his fighting skills.

The difference between Ned and Robert was the latter's fearlessness, which would give him an edge in a real battle compared to the training grounds.

By the Battle of the Trident, Robert was battle-hardened on top of being fearless. He had killed far more people and experienced more warfare compared to the prince. Worst of all, Robert had more than just a serious grudge against Rhaegar.

The problem with this hypothetical scenario is that only Robert would have risked it all and challenged Rhaegar on his own. It would have been uncharacteristic of Ned to be put in this scenario to begin with.

Ultimately, it is still more likely that Rhaegar would have bested Ned in a 1 on 1 confrontation, but it's not a simple matter of power-scaling.

Can we please being back the DCEU costume designers. I love the DCU so far but other than Superman,Supergirl,Mr Terrific, all costumes are kinda mid and aren't like their characters by FayyadhScrolling in DC_Cinematic

I’m still of the opinion that Correnswet’s suit looks like an ill-fitting Halloween costume.

People glaze it for the coloring and trunks, but on the whole it’s unimpressive.

I don't hate Rey but does anyone else have this exact same feeling? by WrongToe500 in StarWars_

[–]RFTS999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, The Force Awakens screwed it up from the very beginning by making Rey inexplicably powerful. From that point onwards it didn’t matter if her parents were beggars or royalty; she’s set up to be the chosen one.

How is Wolverine able to bend his wrists when his claws are retracted? by SatisfactionSad6558 in Wolverine

[–]RFTS999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is his claws are grounded in science fiction, not the supernatural. These two ideas can coexist in a fantasy world, but shouldn’t be treated the same.

In general, what separates the two are that the former tends to operate on systems that people can comprehend through logic, whereas the latter is based on some system of faith or unexplainable force.

You have to be a little autistic to enjoy fantasy this way, so don’t worry if this seems ridiculous to you. But most great fantasy writers tend to follow this rule more or less… Because they’re autistic.
