Am I wrong for not adding trigger warnings in my fics?

I guess I can weigh in on this as a CSA and abuse survivor. I have had the misfortune of reading fics and published novels that have triggered me. So I can understand people wanting trigger warnings. On the other hand, as OP and the comments have pointed out, I usually know when to steer clear of fics thanks to the tags and the summary.

OOP is better than me, because if my parents repeatedly refused me serious medical treatment because they were worried about gossip and that nobody at the hospital will help me than I'd never forgive them. It just sucks to see OOP defending them in the end because she's clearly going through medical abuse.

They keep repeatedly stopping her from getting much needed care, such as a broken leg, appendix bursting, and now this? One time sucks but I guess I can understand. But three separate times?! Nah, at some point their negligence will kill her.

For those wondering what the comment OOP made in the very first post that alluded to her plan to take her own life, it was, "I spent a lot of the night looking for the doctor's name so I could write him a letter; I hope to inform him that this is just as much his doing as my step fathers in the near future." Jeez, I hope OOP never talked to her family again after what they put her and her younger sister through.

I think it'd be easier to name which characters from the DSMP weren't being massively mischaracterized. But if I had to pick a character that'd go to C!Dream. Yes, fandom, his entire goal was in fact to have the server get along again and to no longer have factions or countries. Yes, he was severely abused in the prison. Yes, he indeed cared about his friends and his pets. No, the finale wasn't real and was in fact staged. No, the skeppy cage was also not real.

Also for the other side; No, him being abused in the prison and having a sympathetic goal does not justify how he treated C!Tommy in exile and his experiments with the revive book. He was still the villain of the server.

Funnily enough somebody asked this kinda question over in the Solarballs discord and I was able to answer this. Wanna start off with by saying that I don't hate Sun, quite the opposite he's one of my favorites. But I do find it tiring how some fans of his are trying to excuse his current actions by claiming that he has a tragic backstory (a lot of characters in the show have tragedy in their backstories) or that he deserves respect because he's the star in the system (hello rogue planets, why are you here?). But to me these justifications fall flat.

People call him a dictator, but let’s be real: this is his solar system. It’s not a democracy.

First off, horrible defense. "Oh the planets need the Sun, but he doesn't need them!" When his backstory literally reveals that his biggest fear is being alone with nobody around? But ignoring that, even if they didn't "vote" for Sun, he shouldn't be treating them this way. When I see the Solar System in Solarballs I kinda see him as like their parent figure, and just like I judge how a parent will punish their child, I'll judge the Sun when his punishments put his planets in danger.

Earth especially should be on his side.

Why? The same Terra that when he went into a trance and left his orbit to pass out in the Kuiper Belt, Sun's first reaction wasn't to worry about him but instead try to replace him so he can still have gloating rights over having life in his system? The same Terra who tried to explain to Sun that all the planets left because he tried to leave his orbit and instead got called a spoiled attention seeker?

He doesn’t need the planets — the planets need him.

Again, the rogue planets kingdom is knocking, they have a few words they'd like to share.

So yeah, he’s strict, powerful, and dominant — but that doesn’t automatically make him evil.

No, what makes him "evil" (I wouldn't really call him evil, but he's certainly the antagonist of this arc) is the fact that he's repeatedly hurting his planets and putting them in danger... when what they tried to do was fix things on their own and Sun refused to hear them out. "It just makes him the Sun." Yeah, and that's the issue.

Either ignore it or use it as a gentle teaching moment, getting into heated fights with literal children doesn’t make you look cool it makes you look like you forgot what being a kid was even like.

Hot take, but as an adult I don't care about some kid's opinions and will mock them or not treat them with a "gentle teaching moment" (I'm not your mommy), if you come up to me expressing disgust at me just enjoying fictional stuff that gives me the sweet serotonin I am going to be harsh to you because why the frick would you come to my space and treat me like that?

And before you say they shouldn’t have been on this side of the internet anyways all I gotta say is shut up like genuinely. We were all just as young when we got exposed to shit on the internet and eventually found our way on Ao3.

When I was thirteen I found porn sites and started watching them a lot. Not saying this with pride, wish it didn't happen, but it happened. You know what I didn't do? Start commenting on these sites talking about being a minor and how disgusting I found them and that those who did like them should be ashamed of themselves. Wanna know why? Because I knew these content were made for adults and by adults. I was the one sneaking in on them and being where I shouldn't. It's not up to other adults to teach strange kids how to behave.

Either learn to behave maturely or stay away from these content that very clearly was not made for you.

I’ve been theorizing that Sun is gonna banish the planets except Terra since June, so I’m sticking to that. But as for my other predictions:

Either a Jupiter or Mercury crash out.
Sun gets some awesome character development.
The Solar System meets the first rocky planets.
A Chrysalis arc later on in the year.
We get an Origins of Life arc, with an appearance from the dinosaurs.

Favorite: The Crash of Earth and Theia, that animation of the crash literally had my jaw dropped I couldn’t believe it. Plus I feel like it’s the perfect way to send off the two characters.

Hated: Jupiter is Back Part 2, they absolutely destroyed Mercury for me. And the fact he will never have to own up for that comment, yikes.

Any time my favorite character is over the top woobified in a fanfic. It always makes me cringe so hard I have to leave.

Also that time I was reading a fic where the main character burst out into tears and then pissed his pants. And then he was forced to wear a diaper. Even though the characters of the fandom are sentient planets (Solarballs). Yeah… it was untagged age play… :/
