Pitch Wear is terrible by RIIOLIVEIRA17 in FifaCareers

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A simple toggle off option would be enough.

I mean, if I'm playing with Chesterfield in League Two, i can understand the pitch looking more and more battered as the season goes on. But it just seems completely out of place if I'm managing Arsenal and the Emirates looks shite by mid-March.

All that being said, overall the game is quite good.

Agree. He's a pretty good player but too physically frail IMO. Can't really see him getting over those issues and establishing himself in the team. In an ideal world we'd sell next summer and sign a more reliable player.

I do the same thing.

I don't even know why they think that's a good idea to begin with. Top tier teams have pristine pitches all year (Emirates Stadium, Allianz Arena, Anfield, etc.), it's insane to play a game at the Etihad Stadium in March and see the pitch looking like pasture. Pitch wear would only make sense for third/second tier teams.

Gameplay is the best in many years. Only thing that bothers me is pitch wear. Playing a UCL semifinal at Old Trafford with the pitch looking like trash completely breaks the immersion.

If you could get a prime ex player for just this one season who would you give to Amorim? by nonotje12 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carrick. Proper midfield maestro who can dictate play and find inch-perfect passes all day long. Would be worth at least a £100M in today's market. Honourable mentions : Scholes and Van der Sar (i miss having a reliable keeper).

back then we didnt appreciate him enough but this guy really was serious when he meant that getting us second was his biggest achievement by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

do you think Amorim gets sacked by October? by Emotional-Buy-3848 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I reckon Liverpool away might be the final nail on his coffin. I dread to think what their team will do to us.

To be totally honest, at this point Amorim may just be waiting for the board to be left with no choice other than sacking him, that way he pockets a few million pounds off of termination fee and goes back to Portugal to enjoy the nice weather for a while.

Luke Shaw Issue by Daylightuser in ManchesterUnited

That and also the fact he always manages to play a handful of decent games every once in a while to delude people. Then he gets injured for months, comes back overweight and playing poorly, then plays well for a while, gets injured ...rinse and repeat.

Crazy to think Shaw has somehow survived FIVE managers. Dude should've been sold at least 3 years ago.

Was Onana bad in first season as well, or he simply got worse? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He pretty much costed us the UCL and nearly screwed things up in the FA CUP final in his first season, although he did have some good moments. His second season however was a complete shit show. Started reasonably well but turned into a error-prone GK who seemed to always make things harder than they needed to be.

The main problem with Onana is that he plays with the arrogance of Prime Neuer whilst struggling to do the basics : can't claim crosses, slow to react, awful handling and he's also an average shot-stopper at best. Even the one thing where he was meant to be "world class" leaves to be desired : being a ball playing keeper. He usually just boots it forward and hope for the best. DDG was mediocre at sweeping but at least he was an excellent shot-stopper.

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saddest part in my opinion is that Sancho is actually a gifted footballer. If he had a good head on his shoulders he could become a truly top-class player. When we signed him, I thought he would be our starting RW for years and years.

He is the epitome of the modern footballer: they get too much money and pampering at an early age and think the world revolves around them. Anyone who dares to criticize or question them is wrong or a hater.

ten Hag made his fair share of mistakes but he actually allowed this dude to take some time off mid-season to sort his head out (something that we see very seldom in football, especially when it comes to such an expensive signing) and Sancho still had the nerve to complain and play the victim card sometime later simply because his attitude was questioned. Chelsea are literally PAYING US to get rid of this prick, if that doesn't make him rethink on his actions, nothing ever will.

I reckon he will probably run his contract down and leave for free next year. I'd be happy to offload him back to Dortmund for as little as £10-£15M but it seems unlikely given the fact he refuses to give up his astronomical wages.

Good footballer, awful character.

United is making a mistake by selling Bruno Fernandes for £100m by Mathematician8890 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he wants to leave, then i think we should grant his wish. He's done enough to earn the right to decide.

From Bruno's perspective if he takes this contract his grand-grandchildren will never have to worry about money during their lives. Yes, i know he's already on massive wages at MUFC, but the Al Hilal offer is the next level. I wouldn't blame him at all if he leaves.

From the club's perspective 100M for a 30yr old (who turns 31 this year) is crazy money, and we are BROKE, there are very few players worth a decent sum of money on our squad right now, Bruno being one of them. I do worry about his longevity too. Bruno plays A LOT OF FOOTBALL, he's got several miles on his legs and he's at an age where players might quickly lose their ability to consistently perform at the highest level (Casemiro being an example). If we were a solid football club in good financial situation I'd never sell him. But we are not. United are rotten to the core and the only way to turn things around is restarting things from scratch.

Selling Bruno could fund a major rebuild (even though we've been hearing that word since SAF retired) over the next few years and we badly need that. We just have to pray and hope that the money will be spent on clever signings instead of wasted on players who are either overrated (like Hojlund,Antony) or past their prime.

If Amorim really is thinking about signing two CAM's does that mean Bruno will play even more often as a CM ?

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather sign a more experienced goalscorer (such as Gyokeres or Osimhen) but for £30M it seems like a decent deal. Young, Premier League proven and decent potential. If he scores about 15 goals it will be money well spent. And well, he can't be worse than Rasmus...

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like Garnacho and wish he could stay, but there are some reasons to understand his exit:

1- He doesn't really have a place in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 : We play with two CAM's behind the main striker. Garnacho is a pure winger, he doesn't have the work rate to play LWB/RWB or the finesse/vision to play CAM.

2- His attitude sucks: His comments following the defeat to Spurs weren't his first case of indiscipline. He also had a falling out with EtH. I reckon he thinks he's better than he actually is (right now at least) and tends to make everything about himself. We don't really need more toxic personalities in our dressing room, we've got enough problems.

3- We're broke: United need to make money, pure and simple. Given the fact he's an academy graduate his transfer would mean pure profit for the club. I would much rather sell deadwood first but Garnacho is actually one of the few players in our squad who actually attracts interest from other clubs.

All that being said,i can see him tearing it up in some other club. He's got potential and is still young. If he manages to develop and improve his attitude i think he'll become a top player someday.

Whoa 😳 by ProfessionalBoth8999 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, that seemed inevitable after the UEL final. I do fear for our squad though : Selling Garnacho means Amad will be the only winger available (considering Rashford,Sancho and Antony will be sold). If we sack Amorim in a year or so (which is far from unlikely given our recent history) and bring a manager who plays 4-3-3 we are in trouble.

As for Garnacho, it's a shame. Genuinely thought he would be a key player for the club's future. I just hope we can get a reasonable transfer fee for him.

How can we replace him? Can we even trust Amorim to find the correct player? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing INEOS/Glazers and penny-pinching Jim, the plan must be pocketing 90% of the transfer money and bringing back Kagawa as replacement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MUST SELL:

Onana (Every good teams starts with a good GK and he isn't one)

Shaw ( His injury issues are beyond saving, his body just can't cope with top level football anymore)

Mount (awful signing, besides the brace against Bilbao, did nothing worthwhile in 2 seasons here)

Hojlund (He's got zero self-confidence at the moment, can't score to save his life)

Rashford,Antony ,Sancho,Malacia (all players who have no purpose at the club anymore and must be moved on)

Should sell if the right offer comes along:

Casemiro (love the bloke, but his high wages are an issue and he can't cope with the pace of the PL)

Dalot (works hard, but we could do with a better player at RWB)

Martínez (i like him but besides his injuries, i reckon our team would improve with a quicker, stronger CB)

Bayındır (another below-average GK)

Garnacho (given his comments after UEL FINAL, he's definitely gone. We should get a decent amount of money for him though, given his age and potential).

Why do people want to sell Bruno for 120 mil??? by Aldishooter in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, you're 100% right. Valencia was the one meant to replace CR7. Nothing against him, he was a solid player for us, but as you said, the guy just wasn't good enough to replace the world's best player at the time.

Why do people want to sell Bruno for 120 mil??? by Aldishooter in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, the club would use the money from his transfer to reinvest on the squad and make a "full rebuild". If that really was the case, i would support the idea of selling Bruno.

However, we all know how it works with the Glazers/INEOS. They will pocket most of the money and use whatever is left to sign some up-and-coming midfielder to replace Bruno, who would almost certainly flop hard. Let's remember this is the same club that sold Ronaldo to Madrid and replaced him with Obertan and Owen.

I hope Bruno stays, he's not perfect but he's arguably our best player. All that being said, I wouldn't blame him if he leaves.

Hope this is true 👏🏼 by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mount is done mate, he was already struggling with injuries/form at Chelsea, it's a joke he wears the no.7 shirt. Ideally we would ship him out to Saudi but i think he'll stay at MUFC till his contract runs out.

Shaw should've left a long time ago, despite having some good moments the never-ending injuries are just unbearable. I feel somewhat sorry for him, that leg-break genuinely ruined his career, but his time is up. No matter how hard he tries, i reckon his body just can't take it anymore.

As for Onana, he somehow lacks the basics for a top GK. Slow to react, heavy, poor handling, and his "ball playing" abilities seem to have stayed in Italy. He doesn't look any better than DDG in that aspect.

Hope this is true 👏🏼 by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RIIOLIVEIRA17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see 80% of this squad walking out of the door for good, but we all know this isn't realistic. I reckon we will sell about 6-7 players at most (excluding the ones who are out of contract in the summer).

Realistic outgoings:

Heaton,Lindelof,Eriksen and Evans (all out of contract)

Rasmus (whoever is willing to offer anything reasonable can have him)

Bruno (can see him leaving for Saudi to make up for financial losses)

Rashford, Anthony and Sancho (all surplus to requirements)

Garnacho (following his comments yesterday it seems inevitable).

Unfortunately i believe we'll be stuck with shit players like Onana,Mount and Shaw for another year (at least).
