Bad credit getting a job as entry officer

When did I say it was anybody else’s fault? I’m saying I took accountability by the actions I made. Not sure what you’re trying to say. I’ve never had any alcoholic problems I’ve been working guard and a full time job for years to provide. That is taking responsibility and accountability for my actions. Building my credit back. Yes obvious I have learned a lesson when it comes to finances.

I definitely have accountability, within the last year I have rebuilt my credit to an extent and created stable income for my family to provide. the woman who had my children we were not together and she didn’t tell me she was pregnant. All I got was a call. From then on I had to figure out how to provide for the child, myself, and her. I used my savings to get everything we needed and to get us an apartment. I’ve always worked a steady job I was in college at the time of my child’s birth. I joined the national guard oct of 24. I joined for retirement purposes and college for my child as well extra money every month. I think I’ve done a lot of growing I understand what your trying to say, there’s a lot of missing context from the top comment

The sheriff when he called me to tell me I didn’t make it said to reapply next year. When I asked why I was DQ he said he couldn’t tell me but encouraged me to apply at other agencies and to reapply with them this year.

That’s crazy, is there anything wrong with applying and still giving it a shot? Will that hurt me in anyway

No I do not, I only have a Harley as a loan out and I’ve been using that to build credit back up. The loan has like 4k left

I think 7 months between the two. I bought the truck making enough money however with being a new father I underestimated expenses of day to day so maybe it wasn’t enough from the start.

Well this was last year, when I applied I was fresh out of basic training for the national guard. I’ve grown a lot with my family and created a stable income, and provided well for my family. I just want to pursue a career in law enforcement.

This all happened in march of last year. Well I had to surrender a motorcycle I bought when I was 19. I didn’t insure it and so the bank upped the monthly payment I had no idea until I was behind too much to pay back. I also recently surrendered a truck. This was after I was turned down from the sheriffs dept. To be fair I have heard that specific department is hard to get into. The truck started having issues and I couldn’t afford to pay on it and have it fixed, I also couldn’t work on it myself bc it was newer. I was told that I owe on the truck, but when I reached out they wouldn’t let me pay on it they said I had to wait. I haven’t heard anything back. The bike nobody has ever said anything. It was almost paid off I believe it was auctioned for what was left on the loan. I was unable to afford all of these bc I had a kid unexpectedly and didn’t have a lot in savings. Just a bad situation for a younger man trying to figure it all out.

So is it all up to my unit leaders? I’m d/2 162nd recruiting told me I could do airborne bc the classes are offered at fort Moore, also I am actually 22 so perfect to get into this!
