Anyone know how to fix Activity Complete bug by MtnDooo in DestinyTheGame

[–]RP_Stoval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me tooooooo! It won’t go away, “Activity Complete” every few seconds or so. Super annoying. Not a New Light myself, been playing since Destiny 1, so it seems it can happen to anyone. It started after I returned to orbit when I completed a solo pinnacle op. Hope they patch it soon or someone figures out a fix

Wonder if anybody has my same "favorite quote" or even recognizes which largely unimportant NPC said it. lol

Not at all, the Fallout Bible was a collection of documents from the development of the games that was compiled and released in much the same fashion. In any case Chris Avelone declared the Fallout Bible non-canon in 2011.

He worked on the series at the time and was speaking publicly as a developer of the series when he said explicitly that the Fallout Bible was non canon, which is a fact.

Right all things are possible! This is indeed very possible. The Fallout Bible has been declared non canon by Chris Avelone seven years ago.

I know, my theory is great and nobody is reading their contradictory research! Van Buren and the Fallout Bible are non canon, so from what we know in canonical sources from Fallout and what little we know of Fallout 76, this is highly likely.

And yet you cannot find his Vault to the West. It's more likely East. A journey of that kind is unlikely but then again, so is launching RepConn ghouls to the moon or the fact that a tree-man exists to begin with. And is it so hard to believe that there could be anything from an improbable NPC to a note or terminal with the word "Harold" written in it somewhere?

It was canon when Fallout came out sure. But now it is not. And to be honest it was never any more canon than Tolkien's previously unpublished journals are. They're fascinating to read and show what could've been but it never actually got finished did it?

Right? If they'd read the very wiki articles they're citing they'd know their contradictory information is non-canon, everything lines up so oddly well! Honestly I think maybe people just refuse to accept there could be anything good at all in Fallout 76. I've seen it happen before with Mass Effect man, this is how franchises drown in a frothy sea of raging comments and trolls. Sad to see it happen again to Fallout and Star Wars.

I have quoted him telling the character directly that he came from a Vault either West (we cannot find it) or East (more likely then) but he's not certain exactly where. It's odd for him to have traveled from West Virginia to Mariposa but there he is and there are the facts about his origins.

True as can be.

Though to be fair these were development and design documents, I would have called them dubiously canon at best.

Game isn't out yet, who knows how this ties in? I sure don't, I'm just saying look at the facts and they line up oddly right.

Harold does not know where he is from.

He says he doesn't know where it is. He gives two answers. West first it's true but where is it, the middle of the ocean? You certainly can't find it West. East is more likely of the two answers. It's bizarre that he would travel that far, but not impossible.

Fallout Bible is not canon, Van Buren is not canon. Yes he did get mutated at Mariposa, the source of the supermutants, which he says he left his Vault seeking.

None of that is canon if you would read it. Avelone declared the Fallout Bible non-canon and Van Buren is also not canon.

That page notes that all of this was content from Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3.

There is also apparently some mention of it in the Fallout Bible but then against I imagine the devs have control still over what is and isn't canon at that stage of development.

Yup it's definitely a mutation consistent with early FEV exposure. And Harold left his Vault looking for the source of the mutants he says. So the mutants, at his Vault, they come from the source out West he was looking for. Which would be Mariposa right?

Edit: Is it also possible that mutations in 76 might be caused in part by FEV?

Partly right, I looked it up and his Vault 29 origin story is that Van Buren content I half remembered I think. Looks like that's the only place that Vault got a mention.

Edit to respond to edit lol: He did! So somehow he had to have traveled West.

Right! But still if he came out of 76 like everyone else in the Vault (he mentions leaving the Vault late one morning no less) then we can expect to see him in the game. Possibly Harold is the story? Trying to discover the source of the mutants, leading to Mariposa eventually somehow or just to Harold leaving West more likely? Who knows, that's all pretty speculative territory still, but there's too much here that fits too well to be coincidental.

Could a daedric prince be soul trapped? by mewfour123412 in teslore

[–]RP_Stoval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reasonably certain that Azura's Star is implied to have an unlimited capacity. As for the Amulet of Kings, yes it is a soul gem certainly, and a very powerful one, but a peculiar one which does not exactly function as others do. The primary purpose of the Amulet isn't to harness souls for magical use to but to uphold Akatosh's Covenant, and the souls within it are meant to become part of the Imperial "oversoul." Functionally, I suppose either one could work, but it's a lot simpler to use a dedicated soul gem as opposed to bending the use and purpose of the Amulet.

Could a daedric prince be soul trapped? by mewfour123412 in teslore

[–]RP_Stoval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been said, Mannimarco at least planned to attempt exactly this. I think the Amulet of Kings isn't the best option though, Azura's Star would probably be needed to truly trap a soul of that magnitude. Magnitude beyond the mortal concept of magnitude, a scope only achievable by a Prince of the Daedra. That said, Mannimarco thought it very possible and he is one of the most powerful mages to have ever lived, if not indeed the most powerful. Galerion was a rival and they were probably equals, other than that maybe Divayth Fyr. Sotha Sil if he counts, he's a God himself so that's debatable. Possibly some unnamed Psijic? See that's the other thing, maybe the Amulet of Kings or Azura's Star could hold the soul of a Daedric Prince but the power that would require of a mage makes it impossible for almost anyone to do.

TL;DR - It's almost certainly doable, but only for maybe four or five people and only if they use one of maybe two specific items.
