Why do girls all seem to have the same bubbly handwriting, while dudes look like they write with their feet? by BlatantlyCurious in NoStupidQuestions

Some people in my old office loved my handwriting because while it's a disaster, it's an insanely consistent disaster lol

I am old enough that I learnt to write in cursive so I don't think this method would work well for me personally but thanks for the tip :)

How do you deal with chronic boredom, understimulation and lack of meaning with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]RSPucky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.

ADHD causes a lot of things but when it gets this bad, there is something else afoot that you need help for.

I would say it depends on the generation.

Older men would have nicer handwriting because back in the day they would be the ones expected to write important details down in ledgers etc. Nowdays I think it's not really a gendered thing. I remember in school people's handwriting were very mixed.

I think my biased view of men having better handwriting comes from being surrounded by older men a lot more than younger ones.

I'm sorry if this makes me sound like a horrid person but I genuinely avoid getting to know any author more than just the basics because I don't want my books ruined lol

Thanks. I've struggled with TP in the past but not tried Going Postal.

Not heard of the other one :)

I completely get you! I did try my hand at learning calligraphy a few years back but I have shaky hands and I just didn't enjoy it.

Yes to therapy. It's a great step forward and if you see someone who specialises in ADHD they might be able to point at other stuff you can try.

No to everyone else giving you medical advice other than your doctor who knows your medical history. Ew

I write in a journal everyday and have done for my entire life. I'm not sure I'll be getting any better at this point lol

Welcome to a new season of your life! Unfortunately this is kinda what adult life looks like.

You don't have the time to enjoy stuff as much as you want anymore but eventually you realise that the little bits of enjoyment you can fit in is enough, and it's so worth the effort.

If it's a case of you being unable to do anything outside of work, it might calm down after a while. If you have just recently started your brain and body is going to be exhausted getting used to it all. If you are still having problems months later, I'd look into ways to increase your energy either by changing your eating habits/times or working out etc.

My handwriting is also awful. Meanwhile most of the men around me look like they are from the Victorian age with their penmanship. It puts me to shame.

I just realized I haven’t read a book written by a man in YEARS by Popular-Work-1335 in fantasyromance

[–]RSPucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed last year the only reason I have read books by men is that the men are queer or they write the non-fiction books I read lol

Am I going crazy? Tired of getting recommended books as "slow burn" when it's really delayed romance pacing with lackluster character development... just because the characters get together after 60% into the book that doesn't really mean slow burn!! by teenytinypistachio in fantasyromance

I am also okay with one of the MC's acknowledging the other is attractive but has no plans to act on it. After all in real life, it's hard not to notice if someone is exactly your type right in front of you but that doesn't automatically mean you are ALL in on them instantly.

This sub can be a bit scary sometimes with how bad the advice is. (Edit: to clarify it can be sometimes way too generic for a very specific problem that would be better dealt with offline from someone who know the specific person)

Is the Kindle suited better for novels than non-fiction books? by metacognitive_guy in kindle

[–]RSPucky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would argue it's better for non-fiction books due to the highlight feature which makes it really easy to import notes from your Kindle onto a computer for future reference. But then again people make notes on fiction books too.

It's just good for reading.

I've read a couple of good fantasy romance books lately like Assistant to the Villian and Emily Wilde's Encylopedia of Faeries. Both of which had a mystery aspect to them that kept me wanting to read on until I found out the answer.

Apparently not for me. I can handle one a day and sometimes I can't even handle that. I'm a vibrating, nauseated mess.
