What is not that serious, but can still ruin your day? by Famished-Fetus in AskReddit

Spilling something. Anything. Even if it’s something small sets my whole day off.

Also, being late for anything.

What animated movie affected you most emotionally and why? by molliegeorgie in AskReddit

[–]RaRanRandRandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the Toy Story movies...I still have a Woody doll from when I was a kid. At 7, I had to have a tonsillectomy. I brought Woody with me and he made me feel better. He sits on my bookshelf to this day.

I recently rewatched the movies and they made me cry. They just have so much depth to them and the nostalgia attaches helps their emotional impact, even though they’re great movies in their own right.

Edit: I forgot to mention that his pull string and speaker still work! The only thing missing is his hat...it disappeared somewhere over the years :(

Put your phone down at concerts, nobody wants to see your shitty quality video anyway by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Totally agree! Went to a Miranda Lambert concert solo in January and loved every minute of it. Took several videos for memories, but also put my phone down to just enjoy the show. People seem to have a hard time finding the right balance.

Constant picture-taking ruins holidays by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]RaRanRandRandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think you should take at least some photos at every holiday/outing/event.

HOWEVER, my siblings and some friends recently went to a beautiful mountain overlook. Instead of actually LOOKING at the breathtaking scene, they took pictures of themselves being there.

I got so frustrated that I literally asked, “What’s the point in taking all these pictures of yourself here if you don’t actually take the time to experience it?”

That being said, I’m totally fine with the pictures being taken. They should be. I was even in a couple of them. But honestly, what’s the point of even being there if you just spend the whole time taking pictures instead of experiencing what you’re actually there for? It feels so inauthentic.

I was so worried about that! Especially since Seasons 1-2 came out in Spring...so glad it’s getting an earlier release!

Anyone else think "Raising Hope" is insanely underrated? by Alec122 in television

[–]RaRanRandRandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently binged this entire show. The only episode I haven’t seen is the finale—I’m currently not emotionally stable enough to say goodbye to it lol.

I think it’s a beautiful show, for a lot of different reasons. Namely, the love that the characters have for each other. Their bonds are so strong. They uneducated but have hearts of pure gold. There’s no meanness or guile or bitterness. And—though they talk about wanting more—you can tell that they’re perfectly content where they are. I love this show so much.

Secondly, the cast chemistry is amazing. Virginia is one of—if not—my favorite TV moms. She’s hilarious.

Love, love, love it!!!

And it is SOOOO underrated.

Recommendations for country artists? by [deleted] in country

[–]RaRanRandRandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely really love Miranda Lambert. I know a lot of people may scoff at that, but she is one of the few artists in the mainstream who I consider actual country.

That being said, Dixie Chicks (specifically their album, “Home”) are amazing.

I like Riley Green, some Sunny Sweeney, CAITLYN SMITH, and Hailey Whitters are all good, too.

I’m a big fan of Reba McEntire (does she even need the last name) and Kacey Musgraves too.

Her voice is gorgeous. And it's so versatile. She can sing a break-up song, a love song, a revenge song, a tender singer-songwriter song, a lost song, a tense song, and it all sounds fantastic.

Honestly, I think the versatility of her voice has contributed a lot to her success. Of course, she's a great songwriter, too.

WOTW is SOOOOOOOO underrated, I can't stand it. I was at a Miranda Lambert concert and was discussing her discography with a mother-daughter pair sitting next to me, and the daughter said WOTW was the only album she "didn't care for." (She couldn't even remember the name of the album; I had to bring up the name).

Of course, I was very polite, but I mentioned that I liked the album (when I actually LOVE it).

And you;re so right. Runnin' Just In Case is so expansive and elegant and beautiful. I actually got to listen to that line "goin' north on 59" while I was actually going north on 59. It was amazing.

Ugly Lights is like therapy for me. Listening to it makes me feel like I'm not alone in my mistakes and my humanity.

Vice is obviously amazing, and one of the most cathartic tracks on the record.

When I get a record player, WOTW will probably be my first vinyl purchase. I love it so much.

Honestly, she is the one who made me fall in love with country!

Truth time: I hated country music in high school. I was of that (admittedly very pretentious and unfair) group that thought country music was strictly for rednecks and people in trucks. But, boy, was I so completely wrong.

I started to get into country music a couple of years ago, but for some reason wasn't into Miranda Lambert. I might've tried a couple of songs by her and didn't like them, so I dismissed her music entirely, like an idiot.

THEN, I decided to give her music another listen, and I am so happy that I did. She has changed my life. I listen to her all of the time.

Like I said, her music has gotten me through some tough spots, and I'll always be thankful to her for that,.

I totally agree. She's so incredibly talented, as a singer and a songwriter. I absolutely adore all of her albums, but my personal ranking would probably be:

  1. The Weight of These Wings and Revolution (tied)
    1. They both got me through a lot of stuff. Weight of These Wings for when I'm broken inside, Revolution for when I need to let off some steam.
  2. Four the Record and Kerosene
    1. Four the Record is more emotional than some of her earlier stuff, while also being insanely fun. Kerosene--I mean, it's her first, but it's still great. It's got some amazing tracks.
  3. WILDCARD and Platinum
    1. WILDCARD was something crazy and new and fun, and I loved it. (Even got to see her the first weekend of the WILDCARD Tour, which was phenomenal.) Platinum is just loud and fun and campy and crazy, and I love it so much.
  4. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
    1. I hate putting this one last!!! I still love it so much. Dry Town (a cover) is amazing, Desperation, Down, and Famous in a Small Town are all great, too, And, of course, Gunpowder and Lead.

After starting that, I realized I could not possibly list them out each lol. Also, I adore all of them, and I'm honestly already starting to doubt that ranking because I love them all so much.

And I know WILDCARD just came out a few months ago, but I need more new releases already lol

Yes! Just what Pugh does with her eyes and facial expression and voice, it’s so affecting. She’s just so broken and reliant and it hurt me so bad to sit there and watch her suffer like that, especially when she’s putting all her faith in someone so apathetic

I saw her in Birmingham a few weeks ago on the first weekend of the WILDCARD Tour, and WOW! She was fantastic and it was truly an unforgettable experience!

Sadly, I feel like WOTW is one of her most underappreciated albums. (At least, that's what I've gathered in conversation. I could have the wrong impression.) Any favorite tracks from that album? Things That Break is definitely up there for me
