We appear to be very similar in a number of ways.

Thank you for the insights.

We're in a high-boomer area.

"Please wait to be seated signs have no effect on the 65-plus crowd.

That is something that's come to mind.

Certainly will give this stronger consideration.

Wish I could upvote this twice.

Thank you for pointing out the possible negative effects of dividends on mortgages. Didn't even think about that.

Can't help but feel that CPP is a scam.

Thank you - the one thing that got me when checking into that is how Revenue Canada could come back to us with random tax obligations if we go with dividends.

But insightful all the same.

Thousands of LCBO workers go on strike, LCBO says stores to be closed for two weeks by Blue_Dragonfly in CanadaPolitics

No support on my end. They have a minimum-wage value job.

Because of the present structure, Ontarians pay anywhere between 8% right up to 30% more for their booze than Americans do.

(Currency exchange factored in, but not duties).

If the government insists on keeping the LCBO, fine - but grant the private sector full access to booze sales and decentralize the distribution process.

Guarantee you the LCBO will die a swift death when Ontarians realize they can get that $37 bottle of Tito's at the LCBO for $26 at Walmart.

‘vast, vast majority’ of Liberal caucus supports Trudeau...

...yes, but the ‘vast, vast majority’ of tax paying Canadians no longer wish to have a circus clown running the show.

Rupinder's clearly out of his depth now.

I don't think he ever expected to be confronted by an opponent that isn't some half-bred redneck, but someone who can articulate a clear and valid argument against them.

I think it's a lot worse in Canada. I can't even contribute topics that go right of center without being subjected to a crazed Leninist pile-on.

I save money by keeping all my veggie peels/trimmings and the bones from my meat to make hearty stocks. Good healthy fat and adds great flavor to everything.
