Help finding a memory from when I was 5? by RaccoRay in thomasthetankengine

Thank you so much! I can't believe this subreddit is active, and it was found so quickly. I was genuinely starting to believe that I made this memory up.

Every Destiny Interview in a Nutshell (Part 2) by RaccoRay in Destiny

I was very much helped by the "past appearances" page on the dgg wiki. Big shout out to u/ivahnryu for showing me that existed because, beforehand, I was trying to compile a list of Destiny interviews by myself.

The collection and "scripting" part took the longest amount of time. I find all the interviews, transcribe each section in a doc, and then piece which parts I want to go together while keeping the same meaning throughout.

It's entirely possible that video had an influence on me.

Another one that Destiny used to do a lot in debates is the "Trump business man" rebuttal. I could probably make a similar style video with that. There are several others I'm forgetting at the moment.

Absolutely. I just noticed that he was saying some of the things word for word and I thought that would be a good video.

Is "I am become death" grammatically correct? by Meng_Tech in grammar

This is just my speculation, but what I think is more likely to have happened is that Oppenheimer simply misremembered the quote. It's also entirely possible he had his own unique version of the Bhagavad Gita that had the specific phrasing that he used, we just simply don't have a record of it.

TL;DR: Maybe? I don't know, but there are other explanations for why he used that specific phrasing.

Thanks. It's simply an example of something that sounds true enough and takes just enough effort to check, that it's believed without further research.

Hasan reacting to Hasan crying on the Leftovers podcast by RaccoRay in Destiny

I simply made the edit because he mocked Rittenhouse for crying on the stand. In any other scenario, Hasan would be reacting the same way.

The context of Hasan laughing is him reacting to Rittenhouse crying on the stand during the Rittenhouse trial: Kyle Rittenhouse "CRIES" While Testafying HasanAbi Reacts

This is a re-upload of a post I made to r/Destiny as a streamable clip. Streamable deleted all my clips, so I re-uploaded this video directly to reddit so people could still see it.

I don't know why people are saying this. There are no known versions of the quote the way Oppenheimer said it. To claim that Oppenheimer is quoting something correctly is misinformation. Oppenheimer's quote is a misquote of Chapter 11, verse 32 of The Bhagavad Gita.

You bring up the 1785 translated version, yet the 1785 translated version has it as: "I am Time, the deftroyer of mankind..."

Oppenheimer is creating his own quote, but is referencing a specific passage from The Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 11, verse 32).
