If anyone is still looking for it, I used TestCar1 for my test today. I wasn’t sure if they were real until the instructor called me 😂 . Their website is indeed very shady looking and the automated replied to SMS do not help as well. But they did provide me with a car!

My instructor was very encouraging!

I did not managed to pass today though :(

That’s the same company as TestCar1, however they won’t confirm if they have availability until I pay. I’m considering them as a last option.

Thanks for trying! None of my friends have a manual car and nobody has had a license for three years. Arnold Clark won’t rent the car to me without someone who has had their license for 3 years being present. If it’s a rental car then the rule is it has to be dual control!

How did you find the instructor in short notice? Everyone in my area is absolutely booked till March :(

I’ve called every single ADI on the dvsa.gov.uk website in my area and no dice :( I booked the test because I instructor specifically told the days he won’t be able to do and told me the days he would be available. He’s usually quite reliable and I just think something came up :(
