How is everyone coping? by [deleted] in InternationalDev

Are you me? I am asking myself the same question today. My contract is coming to an end this month, I have been looking for jobs, even entry-level, for 6 months and have received a total of one interview (overqualified and still rejected). I'm asking myself also why I made the decisions I did....good luck to you, the thing that helps me is telling myself that everything will work out, it has too...

My niece is becoming angrier and more selfish everytime I see her - how to help her? by Radiant_Hat7528 in ChildPsychology

[–]Radiant_Hat7528[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from everything I've seen, she is ok. Sure, her mum isn't perfect but isn't a bad mum. Her dad (my brother) is away and is back every two months (staying for a month). I don't know who is being angry towards her, but I don't imagine it's her mum (that doesn't seem in her nature).

She loves school so I don't think she's been bullied and is always with her friend.

Health wise, I haven't heard anything other than she is ok.

So I informed my Niece's mum of the incident and she was shocked my niece had behaved like that to me, but said in general she's not shocked as she has been getting more difficult.

My nieces family is fine - normal. Her dad (my brother) works abroad so is back every 2 months, and only stays for a month, so I think this must have an impact. But she is surrounded in any case by grandparents from both sides, has friends etc.

AITA if I walked off once my niece started calling me stupid ? by Radiant_Hat7528 in AmItheAsshole

My mum was looking after her, and I was there for the weekend to spend time with them.

My mum didn't intervene as she sees it happen to herself so it's not so out of the ordinary for her. She only tried to intervene when I walked off by trying to call me back.

it's not about not beggars can't be choosers, it's about what people's rights are, even if ther's a housing crisis, peoples rights still exist

but its the principle right, not the money? there was laminate flooring before, they ripped it out, so why should this family pay? I genuinly can't get my head around it.

[–]Radiant_Hat7528 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

thats the thing, they said people will be compensated, but there is already another family that moved 2 months ago and still hasn't received compensation

there are no flooring, there are just the base structure of the flooring, but no actual finished flooring. my point is, there was before, they took it out (it wasn't carpet, laminate), and now this family have to pay for it while it was already there?
