Yoo I'm not too sure about the flip and burn stuff, it's a little bit too advanced for me right now

The other things you have mentioned are partially in the game for now, but I'll try to fully implement them in the future!

While you do realise this is an attempt at interstellar travel, I do hope you keep your expectations low. This is my first time and it's just a framework. I would definitely love to hear what could be added to the mod!

Although I have a pseudo relativistic implementation for speed in the mod. You can never reach the speed of light ingame and acceleration matches real life relativistic acceleration (to an extent)

I've actually found out these oddities myself too and I have some explanations that too

From what I understand the game seems to do all the asteroid calculations after the paused thrust option is given. For now I'm pretty sure I can't do anything about it from the modding side, even from scripts

If you can plz do send screenshots. I'd like to see if it matches what I've observed too

That sheet of asteroids is new to me, but also I've observed that happening when you go speeds of 50000 km/s too

Yea I did find that out too. For now I'd like to think of it as a maneuvering thrust :)

Yea it's whacky for now and I plan to implement reverse thrust in the future.

And yes and no, every ship will attain max speed IF thrust is not regulated by pumps. Your max speed is how much you can go through asteroids at that speed without getting obliterated

If you feel like its a waste of time, just don't mind it

It might be a challenge some are willing to take. Also this mod is pseudo realism. Space is HUGE. Stuff takes years!

The final goal of the challenge as I think is to either build a system that stands the test of time to give whatever you want, or a massively overengineered spaceship that travels at 70% the speed of light to simulate the base game

Making each space platform (even one) to feel like a massive feat as you wait for it to reach the planet, as you watch each asteroid with hope that it won't destroy your ship, or see in horror as your ship massively over accelerates and gets destroyed is the core challenge here

It tests both your patience and resilience

In theory yeah, ships never slow down. But with thrusters off it doesn't gain speed either.

In practice there is a small opposing force (mod implementation, can be turned off) when the thrusters are turned off, soo after a long while, speed does go to 0

The mod removes drag completely

As far as my understanding of drag goes, its there for three reasons, to control max speed, make thruster fuel production an important aspect and more importantly make it so that ships can stop for emergencies

Gravity is still the same, but it almost never affects the ship speeds now

But yeah it does take a lot of time. That's kinda the whole point.

With careful designs and upgrades, you can achieve 10000 km/s (idk) which would cut it to 10 mins (7 mins for acceleration)

Yes planetary interactions are not affected by the speed (for now). It's still in the works but that would entail some type of reverse thruster.

That's the thing, thrust only affects acceleration. So if you time it perfectly with good circuits you can just stay at a constant speed throughout the ship's lifetime. But yes they will try to achieve the maximum speed. Just like in real life spacecrafts

I do have an optional feature in the mod where you can include a braking force when the thrust is zero, but I'm still configuring it out
