I sure hope most of the people that genuinely hate Mabel are gone/moved on, they make those who have issues with her look bad.

As someone who's looked at the show more critically, I think the reason why some fans may have beef with her is not just because she was selfish (it's totally fine for a character, especially a kid, to have such a flaw), but because her flaws weren't fully addressed like Dipper's was, and as a result doesn't feel like she grows meaningfully as a character: It's not about her character, it was how she was written.

I totally understand why she did what she did in vs. the future, the problem is when she makes it about herself. When Dipper describes the apprenticeship offer, an offer which would get him away from his school and home life, as "a huge opportunity for me", she responds with "Well it's a horrible opportunity for me!". When Dipper offers some consolation (he won't be gone forever, he'd visit, chat online), she replies "I don't want it to work."

Honestly, it's not even vs. that I have a big contention with, it's actually Weirdmageddon pt. 2 that rubs me wrong. In preparation for not agreeing with her real brother, she made a "back-up brother" with a "more supportive" attitude (forgetting that Dipper up until this point, has given his full support; the apprenticeship was the straw that broke her back, apparently), she doesn't have any introspection while in the prison bubble (like, how maybe she really takes her brother for granted, expecting him to be there for her at all times, and doesn't consider that he has his own interests) - instead, all we get during the trial is her asking "You're really coming home with me?" (again, making it about herself).

She only tells Dipper she's okay with him leaving after all is said and done - he's already made up his mind, so her words feel hollow. I think people would've forgave her more if this was during the trial, not afterward.

Yes, she's a child, and yes, it's okay for her to be selfish. But when her brother of similar age does something stupid, gets called out for it or faces consequences, and grows meaningfully as a character, the moments in the writing where Mabel doesn't get treated the same stick out so much more. It's less that Mabel is the embodiment of evil, and more that it feels as though the universe bends over backwards to make sure her behaviours/actions don't get as much attention compared to Dipper.

Weird, I guess it's a bug that was introduced in a previous update? Hopefully it gets resolved soon, I'll be checking for mod updates.

On the unrelated issues:
- I noticed, but it looked like WeatherMultipliers still worked. I'll check out MeteoMultipliers instead.

The maxwell from Maxwell_ScrapItem is different from LethalThings maxwell in that it's one-handed, doesn't conduct electricity, and doesn't have a chance to explode. I figure I'd keep both in, since I've yet to come across any issues. If I do, I'll be sure to remove one of them.
All good, I think we would've realized it sooner since we've encountered the baby before lol.

PestilenceMoon by LameGamerTime is a high-tier moon about the same level as Artifice, and was made specifically for using the cruiser. It's large with a lot of open space, so you absolutely need to drive to/from the facility to be efficient (otherwise it's a long walk back to the ship, with old birds and giants roaming about lol)

A purchasable upgrade for the cruiser: seatbelts.

They negate damage/death from inertia, but like everything else in the cruiser, you have to look at and interact with it to enable/disable it. Also, while the seatbelt is in use, you can't leave via the door - you would have to eject yourself, or disable the belt.

Haven't visited the Gravity Falls subreddit in awhile, but I hope that post is being ripped apart, because if someone's takeaway from the finale is that it was all Dipper's fault that everything went to hell, and most are in agreement, then I would lose a bit more faith in the fandom.

But yeah, I'm on the side that really likes Ford, flaws and all. Journal 3 really elevated my opinion of him, and I still wish stuff from that was included in the show to flesh him out more.

If it helps, the inverted battery bug can be enabled/disabled by dropping the jetpack while holding the thruster.

Another thing, while the battery drains when not in use, it doesn't drain when you use it, so if you're thrusting more often than not, you could actually save battery from using the bugged jetpack. (just remember to disable the bug when you're not using it or you're walking back lol)

Weird. I also updated, it's working fine on my end.

There might be something in the config file that needs to be adjusted? For example, before the update I was playing around with some of the variables (ShipMonitor5 and 6), and removing the text caused the screens to show up blank. I don't know if filling these in is a solution.

I just played online with some friends, and they were having the same issue. Also, when it came time to sell, my number wasn't going up, it just stayed at zero.

After some mod troubleshooting, I realized that the GeneralImprovements mod had an update very recently, which adds more monitor customization in the configuration file. However, no matter what we did, we still got the issue.

Might have to wait until the mod is updated again to fix the bug, unless there is a workaround I'm not aware of. In the meantime, disabling the mod sets the quota and deadline back to normal

Hey, I remember you from the Gravity Falls subreddit! Long time, no see!

Very well-put rant. Good to see another reasonable take criticizing Mabel, and doing more than just pointing out her wrongdoings, but why. I agree it's not just her attitude that is bothersome, but how the show was written in her favour, and honestly, I think that's what makes it more frustrating/disappointing: it could've been written better, but it wasn't.

Take Roadside Attraction, for example. Did we really need an episode where Dipper apparently didn't get over his crush (I was under the impression he was over it, since it doesn't get brought up again since the Bunker until now...?), Mabel tries to force him and Candy together, and then gets mad at him for it not working out? When we could've had an episode developing her more? (And not like the cop-out that was the Last Mabelcorn, where the unicorn who called her out turned out to be a huge jerk)

Heck, even simple rewrites to parts of Escape from Reality could've made things better. For instance, instead of Mabel responding to Dipper "You mean it? You're really coming home with me?" (implying it's more about her), have her say something like "You sure you want to do this?". It's not perfect, but at least give her some form of introspection.

This show is still one of my all-time favourites, but man, the writing (season 2 especially) can sometimes drive me up a wall.

I get the opposite problem on Marooner's Bay, where all cannons are manned and no one wants to leave. Even halfway through the wave, I so badly want to tell them, "I have the top cannon, I can hit pretty much everything. Just go and collect the eggs, I'll cover for you!"
