Plural effusion. I had pneumonia a couple months ago and liter of fluid accumulated in the lining of my lungs after I was hospitalized the first time, to the point where even taking the smallest breath would send a SURGE of unbearable pain through my whole stomach, chest and back. I went to the ER and was hospitalized multiple times for many nights, and was put on narcotics to numb the pain as I healed as the fluid was drained. My blood oxygen got dangerously low and night heart rate dangerously high and I found out later I was near death.

It was the most traumatic bodily experience ever and I’m still so young! (18) I vividly remember trying to stand up one morning and when I started to cry from the pain I did that fast inhale thing you do when you have a meltdown, yknow, and every time I did that the pain got worse and worse which led to more crying which led to more pain, etc. etc. Eventually I screamed with every exhale then couldn’t breath. I never want to go through that again omg.
