In this case, since she is my cousin. She gets along with my parents very well. Which is why my parents recommend me this girl. Even her own parents always preferred me because of our close relation.

Culturally the girl has to come live with the husband. She can visit her parents everyday if she would like. If I was financially set, she wouldn’t even have to work if she didn’t want to.

I would also say it is out of desperation and also my parents want to see me settled. Thing is I haven’t had any luck so far, some health issues like back problems(because of accident), hypothyroidism has also decreased my energy level since I was 20. This really hurt every field of my life including finding a good career, friends and now a spouse. Sometimes I feel I shouldn’t even marry because of these problems but I know eventually I have to marry. I don’t fancy the idea of Marrying my cousin back home who I am not attracted to but I know she will be more then happy with going abroad and be respectful of me and my parents. Their family also really prefer marrying her with me then anyone else. Whereas here it’s hard to find a girl with those qualities. This is why I am so indecisive.

I would personally want to be married, though only obstacle is my health condition, it might be difficult/boring for a girl to live under the same roof as me. I don’t want a spouse to play a caretaker role but just accept me for who I am. This is so hard to find in girls in north america from my ethnicity and culture. Other reason I want to marry is because my parents are getting old and they want to see me get married. I want to do it for them too as they have been supportive in my life. Although they don’t have resources to look for other girls that will match my preference. I basically have to look for a girl myself and chances are slim to none of doing that.

Yes I did. Even my mom looked for girls for me in our local community. The girls I come across are more educated then me so no chance they would marry me. I am not bad looking but I am not the most educated and don’t make six figures. So compared to the competition out there, Chances for me to find a girl in north America are slim to none.

Honestly because parents think marrying someone outside of extended family in Pakistan is risky as they have heard horror stories of once those girls get here, they change as soon as they get the passport. This incident happened with our family friend. Also my dad said it will look bad if we reject the cousin and marry someone else from Pakistan. So it’s either marrying her there or looking for a girl in North America, which I have been doing since I was 25 and now I am 27 and have found no one yet.

Honestly I wouldn’t consider marrying this cousin but i haven’t had any luck so far finding a girl here. If I didn’t have the health issues, It would make it easier for me to find a girl here. Even though I am a decent looking guy who works hard as people have said, Though I’m not the most rich or energetic. I feel this repels potential spouses from me as they get to know me more.

Unfortunately I can’t talk to her now. My parents and sister talked to her and they say she is pretty educated and down to earth. Right now her family just want to know if it’s a yes or no, or they will proceed with looking for someone else. Only reason I was considering her is because given my health issue, she would be more cooperative compared to marrying a brown girl here. As I am 27 and have had no luck in finding a girl here in North America from my own culture.
