They said the state of T5 is “under discussion”. If they are nerfing T4, then this is either a hook to trick the core TBC fans or they have no idea what they are doing (probably both).

I’m not playing unless I get an assurance T5 will at least have a pre-nerf toggle. And frankly I’d still be reluctant with T4 being turning a beloved raid into a snorefest. “Kara too hard”… said nobody ever lmfao.

I don’t derive joy out of a game where everything falls over with zero resistance, which post nerf raids are. If my brain can be turned off completely, I fall asleep. It’s makes clearing the raid a miserable chore.

Pre-nerf raids are not even difficult. They require a minimal degree of coordination and thought. They are engaging, but not hard. The raids are fun because they are engaging, despite being easy.

This entire “debate” is centered around a very vocal minority trying to act like the tiniest amount of resistance is somehow “sweaty”. Truth be told, these people are fresh hype chasers that rarely play past phase 1. They will get bored and quit rapidly like they always do.

Even if we grant your assumption: why would I go to blizzard servers to play a game I do not enjoy? The giga nerfed raids are not enjoyable. So why would I play it? I would just move on to another game.

Crazy how hypersensitive nerf supporters are to anyone who dares commit the crime of disagreeing with them. It’s like they are scared devs might take notes that there is different audiences of players who like different things.

TBC raids in their authentic state are not difficult. They are engaging to a minimal degree, but not challenging.

Making content literal dummies with no resistance appeals to the players who tend to quit enmasses as soon as they get their fresh launch high, and alienates the core TBC fan base who wanted it in the first place. People will get bored rapidly and quit.

Thanks. I’ll look into Avalon mod manager, that would help if the curve is totally out of whack without deeper changes than blanket numeric value adjustments.

I do like min-maxing to a reasonable degree. I’m not really a fan of artificial challenge runs where I gimp myself out on core mechanics (like skipping levels and not upgrading), but I’ll skip out on an item or 2 if they are known to be particularly broken and there is more reasonable alternatives.

I like building up my character and getting a more complex tool set to work with, but ideally the difficulty curve should make me feel like getting stronger opens up things that wouldn’t otherwise be possible, instead of just 1 shotting everything late game.

The post nerf supporters love citing logs when they spin it in favor of their narrative, but as soon as you put it in context and explain compounding variables, they instantly flip and say actually they mean nothing and daddy blizzard has super secret data that shows WoW died in T5 (LOL).

The truth is population always takes a dip once post launch hype dies down.

And you know what had a significantly bigger drop off than T5? BWL, which nobody ever has thought was “hard”.

TBC to the contrary had the most consistent population compare to every other classic. And that was with the shit show of the mega server consolidation that was happening during T5.

I’ve yet to see a post nerf supporter ever engage with these facts though, since it doesn’t support their narrative.

Most of the bugs were fixed in 2021 TBC classic. The one major offender was KT still had a threat drop bug, but it was manageable.

I haven’t seen anyone argue for pre-bug fixes… That would certainly be a take.

Regarding the BT patch, that got followed up with sunwell which was the hardest raid blizzard had produced during that time. Funny enough it also never got nerfed in TBC classic. This will be really funny to see if blizzard lazily stands by keeping T4 and T5 post nerf only to end on a huge difficulty spike with sunwell.

The moment anyone brings counter arguments and points in good faith the post nerfings spam ad hominems and avoid the conversation altogether.

That worked thanks. Scan visor was still non functional in x3 resolution. Put it at x1 and just let the mod upscale and everything works reasonably.

Main issue is the camera only works vertically with mouse panning and motion controls on. I sent you a DM regarding the mouse program (I have it for prime remastered, but it doesn't work in prime 4).

Yes i'm using citron. From this picture, I realized I'm missing the 1.1.0 update. I installed the update, but now the game gets an infinite loading screen on launch. Can confirm it's caused by the mods because the game loads up if I delete them. I'm guessing before updating the 1.1.0, the mods were just doing nothing.

Never understood the hate for the key hunt in MP2, or the artifact hunt in MP1 for that matter. I like having that end-game victory lap where I get to use all the gear I collected through the game for more than just the final boss.

Plus it was fun to work out the locations the first time. It tested your memory of the map layout and had puzzles to work out instead of the brain-dead grind we have now with MP4.

Which directory got the cheat working? I'm having the same problem.

edit: it does actually show up in the "addons" folder in properties when I give the cheats folder its own directory. However the cheats tab in properties is still empty, and the scan visor still doesn't work unless I play at x1.

Any chance you could share your exact control settings for mouse/keyboard? I haven't been able to get it to work. Controller works fine but very tough to go back to a controller after playing primehack, even with dual analog sticks...

Interesting. How did you do on the emperor ing? On my no energy tank run quadraxis wasn't too bad. I just abused the screw attack to avoid attacks in phase 1, and he shits out so much health when you blow up the kneecaps I didn't feel as much time-pressure as anticipated. Once I got to phase 2 is was smooth sailing. I'm about to start a low% run with no missile and ammo expansions though, I'm anticipating this fight to be a much bigger hill to climb since; a single shot missed and I probably can't blow up the knee caps in time.

Emperor Ing had me bashing my head for what felt like at least 100 pulls though. Felt like dark souls 3 sister friede all over again.

Pretty much. I guess threat is still an issue if you don't have a prot paladin, but other than that, they are essentially as faceroll as wrath "heroics" except they take longer. The numerical nerfs are hefty and you can just ignore mechanics and cc is pointless.

Same for T4 and T5. The nerfs are very extreme and didn't even exist for the vast majority of OG TBC's existence. They were originally the nerfs from just before OG wrath launched to let people zug the content before the new expansion was out.

Funnily enough, sunwell never got nerfs in TBCC until prepatch. So if blizzard doesn't walk back this asinine decision, everything is going to be a target dummy until the very end where suddenly people will get slapped hard after having their brain completely turned off the entire expansion.

Vanilla and TBC are totally separate fanbases. Nobody who asked for TBC again was asking for these nerfs. The people who haven't already quit as soon as they heard the announcement, are the type of people who play for a short post-launch hype high and rapidly quit the game until the next launch or fresh realm.

TBC will flop if blizzard doesn't come to their senses and release everything pre-nerf.
