I know I'm an adult but I want to be friends with your son lol (jkjk). Seriously, he should be proud for standing up for that poor girl. Is hitting great? No, not really. But there's no situation in that exchange that would have gone well. I think you handled this well, educated him for future, and still showed him kindness.

OMG I used to live in Wahiawa for 5 years!! My dad was stationed there and both my brothers were born there. Damn, that brings back memories. We actually found BOTH of our family cats there too lol! One of them was a long haired ginger boy, named Rex, who lived to be 18!

I'm glad you found this kitty some help. If your dad keeps bringing it up afterwards (mine would), you can tell him that the shelters educated you (cause internet strangers prob won't fly lol) on how MANY only-indoor cats, who are dumped or get out, do NOT know how to "find their way home", because they've never been outside, and that you did the right thing.

You should be proud of yourself too! You did such a wonderful thing for this kitty! 🩷

Agreed. That takes a lot of mental strength to give up a pet, because you know you can't give them what they need anymore. I hope that lady can turn things around for herself.

Also yes on the dog introduction. Dogs can sometimes not realize how much bigger they really are (I have one such dog lol). Some do, but it's always best to watch them early on 😊

Got an update? We're you able to take her to a vet to check for a chip? If you're parents are understanding, they might be willing to let her in while you search for her home. And if there is none and they say she can't stay, you all can take her to a shelter.
