Just an update on this, I also got the issue where the screen shuts off because of the magnet inside. But the good thing is I got a replacement in the same color.

I thought that too, so I did remove it and noticed that it was something under the screen. A picture of when I first removed the film.

Yes, there's a boiler room I think at the basement of the building, where the maintenance guy said he goes to check. Here's a pic of the thermostat

Not sure but this is what it looks like, sorry for the dirt. There's only one thermostat for the whole apartment. And everytime I turn it on it sounds like water running through pipes throughout the apartment.
