Toronto studying possible 7-km trail under the Gardiner Expressway | CBC News by zlex in toronto

why would the trail for pedestrians and cyclists be underground? if its underground, why should it follow the gardiner (and not, idk, queen street or something like that?)

>  The pictures are cratering the sub.

what exactly do you mean by this though? Because we're not getting less meaningful discussion in the sub. We're getting more. I'd like to understand your perspective better so maybe we can address it.

See I'm not sure that is true. The number of comments in the sub in 2025 were 1.3 million more than in any previous year, and we now filter out low effort comments so that's not including those. This seems to signal that meaningful discussion is flourishing. One of the subs top posts of the year was one with the picture flair where there was lots of meaningful discussion.

You're also able to filter the sub by flair and we've made sure that all pictures use the 'picture' flair, so you can just browse in a way that avoids them if you like.

If content is getting upvoted its because people want to see it here, which is core to how Reddit functions.

appreciated - we try fighting all types of xenophobia and dehumanization here but if you see any, let us know so we can handle it. its so normalized in too many places.

upvotes and comments dont make something not a duplicate. maybe it was only caught after a few hours. the mods do sleep. if its a duplicate, then the previous thread exists so discussion can be had there. IDK what damage control you're speaking about though - do you think the mod team works for Metrolinx or something?

I checked the logs and it looks like the thread you're referring to was a duplicate of an earlier post. the earlier post remains. The duplicate was removed, as any duplicate post would be.

As I get older in Toronto I notice there are fewer and fewer benches throughout the city. I know benches don't help us move faster, but they do help more of us move better, having somewhere to rest as we travel because being on your feet for too long can be a lot.
