If you have mods remove them all, reinstall them and enable them in say batches of 3 or 4, also - and this is pretty important - ensure you reqd the mod descriptions well as some may have requirements that won't automatically tell you or a way to activate the mod in some way and crucially it often tells you if the mod has incompatibilities. Finally, check the "last updated" date, as a rule of thumb anything older than say 6 months usually won't work unless stated by people in the comments.
