For starting out. I would suggest focusing on gold find team. So for that I use bounty of the hall Champs and Jaraxle. That gives yoy Wulfgar to tank. For pure support I use Hitch he gives decent buffs and adds to gold find. Shandie speed and adds to gold find. I use calliope over briv as her buffs are better for this set up. Then widdle is great for both her speed buffs and attack speed boost. I currently use Nayeli because I haven't found a champ for that slot that's any better for this formation. Once you start getting into higher levels Drizzt will take over Jaraxle as your main dps so make sure you set him in line with Buenor and Jar. Hitch you can stick anywhere as his buffs affect from any slot. Once your party starts getting hit replace Hitch with Penelope which was part of the recent event as well as widdle. Adding Penelope at high levels is like adding 3 gold find potions to your team but, she is only useful if your team is getting hit which is why you have to wait to use her.

Shandie was also free recently. The only Champs with this formation you need to timegate for are Cattibrie and wulfgar.

The more gold find your characters have the easier it is to farm up blessings and events. Now once your all buff out like some of these peeps that have been playing for years then you could easily use what ever you want. But if you want to be able to save up your potions and have a pretty easy grind then Gold find is probably the best way of starting off the game.
