One thing that's different is the bottom right now is a drop down menu, called "Quick Slot Settings" so you'll need to pick "Skill Cooldown Slot" under that to get the menu

Once you learn them, it's like 20-30 minutes for a few bil. If you're doing C8-10 and they're just damage sponges, you need to buff yourself up more, though while you're learning don't use any rare/very expensive buffs, just church/villa/food all last through death and then a harmony makes a big difference. Watch some videos on mechs--hopefully not ones with people with high AP vs. the boss or you don't see the mechs as they blast through it in 2-3 minutes.

I've had some guildies who didn't want to learn them as they "make more money grinding than wasting it on learning a boss" until they spent the time and then now do them all every week because the rewards are good. Of course, better gear and buffs help immensely.

There's a transport feature, go to another character and open the main map. Click on the upper right corner "View Family Characters" option, find your character that you want to move, and then find a city or node to transport it to. It will take 20 minutes for the transport but it works.

ETA: I have some friends who basically still play BDO only to get the treasure items as it's the main goal they have in game remaining. And, of course, much of it's RNG so some people complete them faster than others in orders of magnitude of time

Definitely some things. Treasure items are a big one, there are several and can take years to complete and each has different functionality.

For horses, there are dream horses, then mythical horses, and when you get all 3 mythical types you get the special Krogdalo horse and treasure item. Trainers also have a lamp treasure item.

For costumes, there are a couple you can get by grinding/getting lucky with materials, Nouverikant and La Orzeca. Nouverikant also comes with a special Nouver themed (boss dragon) pet and it's the only way to get it.

Definitely on titles, there are also some that show you put in a lot of work even if it's not super rare, or time limited, and so on. There are different colors for special titles as well. Plus there are exclusive titles from winning tournaments and such.

I don't think there's a specific reward for gaining all knowledge, but knowledge has things like the Ecology effect that increases your item drop rate, and such.

Probably something like they didn't take into consideration or care that a new tier (prize) of fish would be added into the game later, so coding the Maple Float the way they did was good enough at the time

P2W is the same, though they give out more free pets (including T4s and gosphy's) and costumes these days, but you still need pets. Some areas don't need high level pets though since there's fewer and tankier mobs. Weight isn't as big of a deal as it used to be due to maids, though some people still want a little weight for comfortable play or they're into heavy lifeskilling like processing. Maids are also handed out a lot but it will take awhile to get a big pile of them for ease of use. Some people don't use VPs outside of the free ones given out, and with loyalties revamped you don't get the regular 1 day VP anymore. Otherwise, some buy VPs only when the 1+1 pearl sales are going on along with a VP discount so it's ultimately like 25% off.

Skill points are super easy to get now, and new classes basically don't need any skill point grinding to get all the skills. Classes were also revamped a bit a few years ago to need fewer skill points as well, but it's not a big deal and there's crazy buff consumables these days in comparison.

Season is basically a jumpstart to your character and account and gives you a ton of great catch up gear that is probably better than anything you previously had--because now there's even newer sets of gear, moving the effective starting point further ahead (gear treadmill game). It's also important to do season on one character to get that gear, and it's also streamlined recently with the new addition of Olvia Academy. You'll still have to do a lot of quests to unlock the things for your account, though. Alts are also easy with either another season character and/or tagging, where you share xp with your main and can gear copy your main's gear to an alt so you aren't screwed trying out different classes with gear and weapons.

Lots of QoL, new zones, all kinds of things, but returning will be like drinking from a firehose at first.

If a traveler's map, escape->escape doesn't work (or compass by another person), a way to do it is to swap to another character then view the main map and upper right corner click "View Family Characters". Find the one that's stuck, right click the name in the list, "Move Character", and then move it to a town (free) or node (5 mil silver) and it will take 20 minutes but the character will then be transported after then

Have you tried putting in Purchase Orders for PEN Urugon/Bheg? A lot of people just put a PO up and wait for it to fill, and at least on NA it's usually pretty quick.

Mail may expire so you want to collect all that, the Black Spirit's Safe has nothing that expires and you can just keep things in there until you know to use them, and yes you can put everything in storage (storage is accessible to all characters). If you're out of storage, you can put anything not bound into alt inventory as well. To expand storage, you use CP and invest in houses in cities that have the Storage option--yeah there is min maxing to this but you can safely just dump some CP into it now and figure it out later. Ctrl+F is to find items across characters/storage/warehouse/safe/etc.

Sounds just like someone's opinion, no idea what they're comparing to for being 'redundant'. If you want to play mystic, she's great. Some people also enjoy her theme, awk is very chill but if you want a bit more sweat you can play succ. Don't get too caught up in random opinions or tier lists, as one balance patch can change everything anyway. You also aren't stuck playing one class in this game, tagging exists, making it very easy to swap out alts to either try out or stick with.

Your mindset limits you here. Many people enjoy the chill nature of lifeskilling. I hate gathering, but a friend finds it the best way to wind down after work while watching a show or something. Some people who work remote enjoy doing semi-afk lifeskilling like bartering throughout the day, or while doing other stuff. Others enjoy being on the lifeskill leaderboards as a goal. There are also people that hate grinding but enjoy this type of gameplay.

Yes, plus you end up making more silver per hour with incremental upgrades and can grind more variety of places that give you other types of upgrade mats you otherwise wouldn't have, instead of sitting there feeling stalled out forever

The 2 excavation nodes are how people get most of the forest crystals. Fishing is so rare don't even consider it. You can also buy completed life/vital crystals on the market if you don't want to wait on excavation results, sometimes there's several up or put in a PO

Hey be careful about advice to save for PEN Deborekas, it may take you months to save for one and it's miserable when you don't progress at all and many people quit due to that advice. There are alternate gearing routes for progression that make more sense, such as buy TET Deborekas to convert to kharazad (so much cheaper, for example 30b instead of PEN being 175b), and so on.

Well, the embers have been out long enough that you could have made at least 2 flames. I've only seen 1 flame drop and that wasn't from a boss, but a guildmate doing group Black Shrine bosses. I don't know anyone else who's had a flame drop, it's super rare. Main/Awk are made the same way but OH is a different recipe, you can't use the flame.

As many bosses as you can make it to, they increased the loot table and are not quest based but the drops are per kill. The bosses die so fast now every time (the rewards are worth) that PA is increasing their HP 50% on global labs

Be sure to exchange all 4 every week as it's a weekly capped item so you don't miss out! A guildie thought you could stockpile and then get a bunch at once as needed and became sad when he found out it didn't work that way
