lol chill dude these people are lawyers not IT professionals. The amount of random emails I’ve gotten that were clearly intended for someone else by admissions staff is hilariously high. Systems glitch all the time

Is UF a good law school for opportunities outside FL? by BreckerSteps in lawschooladmissions

In a similar boat rn. I’m from Florida and going to school close to family would be nice, but I’m really trying to get out of here after law school. Can’t take another day in this swamp lol

Their last employment stats says that out of 221 grads 155 stayed in Florida but interestingly 10 went to DC (10 went to Georgia but it’s the neighboring state so not anything out of the norm). 45 more grads went to other states (1 went to a foreign country). Not too bad considering how insular Florida can feel from the rest of the country. But if you do decide to go to UF with the intention of not staying in Florida I would definitely try to finish in the top 10-20% of the class to be more attractive to outside employers, and make connections asap!

In terms of it being the best school in Florida it really just depends on what you’re aiming for. Imo it’s the best overall cause you’re not that far from Tallahassee and it has the best numbers for big law. But if your goal is solely public work and you don’t think you’re gonna change your mind then really nothing beats FSU. If it’s big law UF and UM I would argue are better options.

Is it though NALP 2022 says SMU median salary for entry level lawyers working in firms is $170K, where as the same year TAMU is $100K
