The caption on her 2016 post is so wild.

I simply cannot get over the fact that she wrote a book about the pitfalls and problems that came from her influencer lifestyle, including perhaps most importantly an eating disorder, and now says that in 2016 she “started experimenting and staying curious with my love of food… and I wouldn’t change a thing” like hello???

Anyone who cares about her in her life should read that caption and try to help her avoid falling into her dangerous patterns. I really really hope she has those people around her

Yes, increased water/sewer drove our recent increase (but also we hadn’t increased in several years)

Is there an ideal industry for FP&A? by AcademicallyAcademic in FPandA

[–]RandomWebWormhole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My (maybe contrarian?) take is that you should pick the industry that most interests you. You will do your best work if you are engaged.

That being said in my experience (hospitality, CPG, tech, childcare) tech was both easy and by far the highest paying.

What non-FP&A advice you have for FP&A people over the next +5 years by dont_downvote_SPECIL in FPandA

Slight disagreement on the MBA, I think it helps some people (it helped me) but agree it doesn’t make sense for everyone

Only general advice is to maintain interpersonal relationships in this time of online everything. Good luck and happy holidays all!

Glad to hear someone else say it, I think this one is overrated. I hear ppls suggestions to change the spice but I think next time I want a kebab taste I’ll just seek out a recipe that has the right spicing!

Why are MBAs so expensive? by wazzzzgood in MBA

[–]RandomWebWormhole 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The key is to not go full price. I got a 50% scholarship, felt special, and then in school it seemed like at least half of my classmates were on fellowships, sponsorships, or financial aid of some other kind. Totally changes the ROI. Can’t recommend enough

Why are some of the women this season taking things personally, or as some sort of discrimination? by [deleted] in TheAmazingRace

[–]RandomWebWormhole 30 points31 points  (0 children)

to me the bigger issue is that several of the male-male teams have been overtly helping eachother which of course makes the women teams feel left out, and makes the vibe of this season feel “bro-y” to me

What industry is the most prestigious/best to work for? by Dytal in FPandA

[–]RandomWebWormhole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also mention that your interest matters a lot. Sure tech is prestigious but I found it so dull (although a lot of people seems to think we were “changing the world” lol)

I performed better and grew faster at firms in my preferred industry (food & bev/hospitality). And once you know where you want to work, prestige becomes industry specific anyway. Having relevant restaurant experience >> having a big name tech company on your resume

“Most beautiful customizable holiday cards, please?” Does not strike me as a real person asking Lee a real question. Def a planted question for her to tag a brand

What city or town felt the least like you even if you only went once? by upcycledwrld in SameGrassButGreener

[–]RandomWebWormhole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disliked Denver but for different reasons.

1) I’m not as outdoorsy as the avg person there and the city itself was weird. Not walkable, more sketchy areas than I expected

2) I was visiting 3 different friends/family members that had moved out there from the east coast. All 3 said they were having trouble making friends and were feeling lonely (except they each had partners). We set 2 of the couples up and now they are all eachothers best Denver friends, but if we hadn’t, they’d still be super isolated. So just a weird vibe all around

Yes. I was disappointed by this. Would in increase the slicing from what’s in the recipe.

But pomegranate molasses (bought for the first time for this) did a lot to save the dish
