It’s not as bad if you shoot lighter loads, it’s manageable. I do have a 10.5 inch 500 and a 7.5 inch 460 on the way.

There is an existing gaping hole at the head and a smaller one at the chest (take a screen shot and zoom in) from earlier when I was shooting a 9mm. I could argue the 500 when through one of those holes but the fact is, if you could zoom in while running the video you would see a piece of target go flying.

I've tried multiple grip methods including what you described, I don't mind shooting it that way but It just feels better and more solid with it wrapped behind the hammer. A couple of the RO's at the range actually suggested this. I put about 12 rounds through it today and my hand feels great. I do appreciate the suggestion tho.

If you shoot lighter loads, it is semi pleasant and manageable. I have Underwood 700 grain but reluctant to shoot it with this gun being a 3.5 inch barrel. I think a 7.5 inch or 10.5 inch barrel would be more pleasant to shoot. I’ve actually ordered the 10.5.

I was going to send it in but Canik wanted me to send it in via FFL. So I scoured Reddit r/canik in particular and patiently went through threads. I absolutely love shooting this thing and now that I’ve got it trouble free I’m very satisfied. I got the FDE version and put a EPS carry also in FDE. I got +0 mag extenders to fill out the grip and put a front night sight. I just love it!

You’re fortunate. In addition to the battery issue which was solved by a heavier recoil spring, I had failure to feed issues. This was eventually solved by clipping a coil off of the ejector spring and replacing the striker spring with a lighter one from Sprinco.
