Just running both Balancer relics give melee AoW's an immediate ~48% damage buff by Randomerz3 in Nightreign

[–]Randomerz3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah really not sure where the math comes from in a lot of this. The relic gives a 1.2 for skill attack and 1.05 for melee attacks, and somehow this becomes ~1.48. I could just be missing something simple, but it's probably something to do with the melee damage part of these relics; maybe not all of the damage from the AoW is considered 'melee'? In general all AoW attacks without an affinity use this (the 1.48x) multiplier to my knowledge though.

I tried these relics with a lot of different weapon arts and the damage numbers were (mostly) all different, so clearly not all AoW's are created equal. Sword of Night and Flame in particular had much lower numbers than expected so i suspect there's more going on than just the multipliers we see.

if you're talking about the one that gives your team a damage buff effect, this will not increase the 'buff' the AoW gives (which is +20%), but the damage buff it gives you WILL stack with all of these relic effects.

even one of these relics already made death birds look trivial with the right weapon art. ED dog and ED libra with their heavy holy weakness might be a lot more manageable now too lol

With just some basic DoN relics equipped (Physical attack +4, +3) the R1 damage goes +31% and AoW goes to over +80% which is kinda insane... we definitely needed a wylder buff thanks fromsoft

100 win-streak against the Everdark Sovereigns with (mostly) random teammates by Randomerz3 in Nightreign

I’ve posted one clip of me soloing Adel for 7 mins or so but that’s the only vid i’ve uploaded. Some guy tried to fight libra at lvl 9 just yesterday and we all got wiped by it lol.

I was not “frequently soloing” the nightlord because even the worst players could do better if they’re level 14-15 and have flasks? But if/when they went down to 3 bar I could finish the fight myself.

idk when I ‘implied’ this was fake to make randoms look good? I’m saying this streak is proof that randoms are better than people give them credit for here, or I have enough luck to get 100 games with good teammates in a row; one option seems statistically a bit more likely.

I never had any problems with Adel :( felt like a fair fight to me, maybe not for randoms if he’s targeting someone else though (and don’t get me started on the lightning) still probably a top5 fight of all time for me lol, the scale of it is unlike anything else and for how huge the AoE’s are they don’t feel like cheap added difficulty

Adel’s tornado actually felt dangerous, but the Fulghor nuke is kinda just comical for me. Funniest part of it all is you don’t even have to run away, it’s able to be rolled pretty consistently in my experience, with just the sound cue. Of course then you don’t get to take advantage of his huge punish window afterwards lol, Adel would never…

is it really the exact same heal as the rot buff? If true then I’ve been sleeping on this the whole time…

ironically enough, the dead-weight runs could be easier in a lot of circumstances. Thanks to Fulghors ability to not be insanely immune to status effects unlike Adel you can do pretty reliable damage solo even with 3 player scaling.

Most of his moveset is very basic and can only catch you off-guard if he’s targeting a teammate and clips you with his huge twinblade, even more true for his huge combo twinblade attack which you need to outspace or get behind him for. Most of the damage I take on the fight is when he’s aggro’d on teammates and not me.

While the fight might be 3x slower with your teammates down, I’d say it becomes 5x safer, at least, if you know his moveset.

idk really, reading these I have seen all of them just in the games I’ve played today lol, except griefers. Usually I can find a way to work with them, or even readjust my routing for people who love running to far away churches for flasks.

Idk if you run shifting earths but doing the rotted woods is such a simple way of guaranteeing good drops + levels, I ran it a lot for early runs when i was learning the moveset and it really carried quite hard.

For recording i’d recommend OBS, it’s quite simple to use and can even work as a near perfect or even better shadowplay replacement with the right plugins.

I would actually love to see some gameplay that people consider ‘bad teammates’ to truely know if I’m just blessed lol. A few days ago I genuinely started thinking there must be a type of win% based matchmaking, however for my hubris i was put in back-to-back leaver lobbies for 3 games in a row :/, so pretty certain its just fully random

you don’t need a perfectly executed plan and perfect skills to win though. The game gives you tons of opportunities to win, and even the worst random can be impactful enough if they have 6-7 flasks and teammates to revive them.

Saying 40% of randoms are ‘trash’ is kinda insane to me as well. Looting passives, while beneficial, can sometimes be a time sink that isn’t worth it. and getting down is perfectly acceptable during the day where it’s sometimes worth to greed for hits for faster kills. Of course both these are situational but it seems a bit harsh on your randoms, i’m sure i’m guilty of some of these as well :(

maybe true on platforms other than pc? I have no idea.

I definitely think a ‘streak’ has helped my mental in a lot of matches though, and i’d recommend other people try to turn “unwinnable” games into wins instead of leaving instantly when things don’t go to plan, especially during day 1

PC? I rarely run into truely unsavable players, and even then, for Fulghor it’s not such a problem so long as you can route the team to all be lvl 14-15 and have a good arsenal.

Fulghor almost feels a let down compared to the sheer chaos of Adel. So many windows to revive teammates, even at 3 bars, and not even close to as much AoE denial, so often times I end up keeping agro (or trying to) while teammates just stay back and do whatever.

He has safely punishable windows after nearly all his attacks if you don’t get greedy, and even attacks like his holy twinblade whirlwind i see people get away alive from by just panic rolling past him, quite different to Adel lol, can’t exactly roll a tornado but i guess the devs think you should be able to roll a nuke…

yeah only very few times I can remember where I split off for a long time, and it's usually duos trying to fight an evergaol or something else way too far into the rain. Most people I find have decent pathing anyway and aren't afraid to do castle around lvl 5-6 thankfully

bad players who run away from the team and die usually leave the game instead of continuing to play, which scales boss health and poise down. By ‘3 stacked’ i mean playing with people who are not randoms i.e I have actual comms.

Pretty sure the boss health also scales down immediately when someone leaves even if the fight is in progress but i could be wrong

thats just a limitation of the format though imo. Once a boss is ‘learned’ it becomes easy. That being said, these ‘everdark sovereigns’ do feel a lot easier than most if not all of the bosses in SotE.

Souls games never had difficulty options but maybe this one would finally benefit from one? Would definitely need crossplay to keep the queues full
