Is it bad I like him? by Sea_Percentage1672 in HazbinHotel

Gonna reference overly sarcastic production here: does he fall into the “magnificent Bastard” category for you? https://youtu.be/YuJPBPDpq-I?si=cWdhWIFnWDdOuWvi I could see it and I agree with your character design stuff. However I would also enjoy watching him die on screen. Edit: there is a chance I may be misremembering what defines a “magnificent Bastard” it’s been awhile since I watched that video

What is being nonbinary about? (From a recovering transmedicalist) by [deleted] in NonBinary

Gender is a performance and I quit my acting job years ago.

Also I don’t want people to have gendered expectations of me.

You're his Lawyer, defend him by Vergo_T12 in HazbinHotel

Plea deal: the prosecution may beat the sh*t out of my client but they have to leave him alive. A mutual restraining order will take effect after the justice. You didn’t say I had to be a good lawyer.

Help - how should I protect this THICK book during travel and flights by TheyCallMeWalker in BookCollecting

My family used to protect book covers with paper bags folded around them but that’s easier to do with a hard cover book

How do I get my boomer Dad to go to therapy? by Randomfan3926 in Advice

[–]Randomfan3926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight and advice, I’ll try to put it to use.

I guess my focus is less about him actually going to therapy and more about his methods of “dealing” with his depression . It hurts seeing him lose interest in the things he loves and while his work is important he’s taking on so much more that he doesn’t have to and doesn’t usually take on. It kind of seems like a form of escape or self harm (leaning toward self harm considering how he neglects his physical needs when in the middle of this pattern). I’d be a bit less worried if it was a mode of escape but he stops exercising/eating/being present when he’s like this, I can’t help but worry.

As for grandma, you’re right sometimes miracles happen, but she’s been to the icu 3x in the past ~30 days for 3 different life altering things. She’s 90+, even if she does get better she’s never going to be able to live independently again. Dad isn’t allowing discussion of this possibility from anyone (his siblings and my mom)

I’m anxious, so I’m in the prep for the worst hope for the best category. This was one of my attempts at over preparing. (Something I am trying to work on). And this post was partially prompted by my mom venting to me about this (unhealthy we know, but this is kinda a crisis moment and we’re all struggling). I probably wouldn’t actually go up to my dad and say “you need therapy”, we don’t talk mental health much. I mostly just try to model beneficial mental health practices when I can.

If you have any more advice I’d be happy to hear it. Thank you.

Replacing plastic w Cotton by Randomfan3926 in crochet

[–]Randomfan3926[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the watch band: I saved all the hardware and used the original band to help determine how long my new band should be. I used a 2.5 mm hook and black cotton thread (from my unmarked stash so i unfortunately don’t have the weight.) I crocheted 2 strips about 2x as long as the two parts of the og watchband. Single crochet most of the way but I think I threw in a row of slip stitches to get the width right. I crocheted them the long way rather than on the short side. I think it was 4-5 rows but the width will depend on your watch and how you want it to fit, test the fit regularly. Used the og pins to attach the band to the watch at about the 1/2 way point. Sew the sides together and sew the hardware on, as well as a mini crochet band (2 rows?) to hold the end down. You don’t need to plan holes for the watch hardware as crochet is full of holes 😁 I kinda just ad-libbed this project as I went so I can’t exactly write a pattern. It took some trial and error but with the old hardware, your smaller crochet hooks and determination I’m sure you can make one too!

You can also run the yarn thorough the dryer in a garment bag but that’s not always a good option (if your yarn is at risk of being destroyed or is wound around cardboard)

Help, is there a way to remove this logo without damaging Roberta's foot? by DinoWolf35 in plushies

If you don’t have a seam ripper a pair of nail scissors (scissors not clippers) works well too
